It breaks my heart to hear that this type of bullying actually happens (and even worse than portrayed in the show) 😢

This series got a very top tier cinematography ive ever seen. Every shot is made with purpose and full with emotion.

@@fared___3409 I think that is a bit on purpose. There is no part of thew backstory, or any possible flashbacks that relate to the chairman. He is essentially just a pawn in her game. I think maybe for non-Korean speakers is is more confusing can intended, since Korean names are so different than what we are used to, and it is very difficult to both follow and remember the names mentioned in the documents she pieces together from his trash. Because of this, every reactor I have watched fails to catch on to that the trash is NOT from one of the bullies, but from someone completely unrelated to any of them. So every reactor ends up assuming that the aid works for one of the bullies, and that the reason she wants to help is because she too is somehow one of their victims. This instinctive assumption makes her sudden request for help in killing her husband even more confounding.

Yes, and the saddest part in the real world is that the bully is the winner. A victim who got successful in life and in carrier, and succeeds in getting their revenge is a pretty rare. That's why all the movies with this theme always have a lot of viewers because that's like a dream come true.

Fun fact, the guy who played hero in this series which is Lee Do-hyun and who played one of the girl that bullying Moon Dong-eun which is Park Yeon-jin her real name is Lim Ji-yeon, they're actually date each other in real life, after they meet in this drama.
Legit fave show of the year. I’m glad it finally made its way here for a react!!!
In 2012, the South Korean Department of Education did a survey involving a total of 1 million elementary, middle and high school students - the findings showed that almost 10% of them had been a victim of school violence at least once.
yayyy. im so happy youre getting into this drama. this was definitely one of my favorites of 2022. the acting and the story was sooo good. its hard to believe that some of the bullying you see happened to actual people in korea. School bullying in korea is no joke...even to this day, you still see and hear about similar situations. Also, idk if you recognixed him, Achara. The actor who plays the police officer/inspector in this drama was also in Bloodhounds and Moving. :) there's also an interview show where a bullied victim came forward to ask for advice on whether she should take revenge on her bullies. In the interview, she mentions how her friends told her that the incidents from the show mirrored her experience. She talks about how she was burned by a curling iron for 5 mins. How she was intensely physically abused by her bullies while she was also trying to protect her younger brother and being worried for his safety as well. She found out that one of them does fundraising for non-profits and another has a license in nursing and social work. She also mentioned that while she got an apology, they were all smirking at her. its crazy...how this kinda stuff gets swept under the rug in korea. :( just recently there was a young schoolteacher who got harassed and bullied by parents so intensely that she committed suicide at the school and was found by her colleagues (i think the teacher was only 23). I remember when my brother was an english tutor in korea a while back. And he was warned not to speak Korean around the parents because once the parents find out you can speak Korean, some will harass you with questions about their kids and some will think youre incompetent if their kids are struggling in the classes or during the tutoring sessions...

최근에 가장 재밌게 봤던 드라마! 그리고 안타깝지만 고데기로 화상을 입힌 일도 실제로 있었던 사건이며 과거에는 선생님이 학생을 폭행하는 일도 실제로 있었던 일이랍니다...
Thank you soooooo much for your reactions❤ korean cinema is elite whether it be dramas or movies you're in for a ride
CANT WAIT FOR EPISODE 2!!!!!!!!
I am so stoked that you beautiful ladies are doing The Glory. Made my day. ❤❤❤
1. 고데기 장면은 픽션이 아닌, 한국에서 실제로 있었던 사건입니다.. 1. The curling iron scene is not a fiction, but an actual incident in Korea.. 2. 예전에는, 한국 선생님들이 학생들을 폭행하는건 당연한 하루 일과였습니다. 그러나, 지금은 학교 선생님들이 학생들한테 폭행 당하는 시대가 되었구요~ 2. In the past, it was natural for Korean teachers to assault students. However, now is the time when school teachers are assaulted by students
Omg yay!!!! I'm so happy you guys are reacting to this!

11:57 notice how the light coming from door made a symbol of cross behind female lead right after they(bully) made fun of all the teachings going on in the church??. Yes! I've been waiting for this reaction💜
this drama spawn from the question of the child of the writer. the kid asked her "what would you do if someone bully me" she said that since she's got the resources, she'll make sure they are punished. but she got to thinking, what if it happened to someone who doesn't have that. and thus, the glory happened.
The musical score on this drama is just top notch and what really draws the viewer in and get so invested without realizing it. Without the score, it would just turn out to be one of those kdramas. The plot is generic and simple, and has already been recycled so many times but what made this show emotionally complex is the excellent musical score, every melody and note has a purpose, it serves as the translator of their thoughts when the characters' mouths are shut, it really cuts deep---which is so poetic

I think the story was written so well that the whole story was just poetic and every scene too. You add the acting and cinematography, but i do agree that the scoring was also not to be neglected! That's what made this Drama a top notch, an actual work of art and I ain't a K drama fan!
I have been avoiding this show like the plague because I know I'll get upset at all the bullying but I'll watch it now that I have your reactions to motivate me
keep in mind, after this show released, people were interviewing randomly in the streets in Korea, and they were askeed about what they think about the intensity of the bullying in the show The Glory, and they were not phased by it saying oh it's like half of it but nice show .... but to us it"s such a weird concept at least to that extent ! also, this show is based on real life.
I hope you are watching it with the standard subtitle and the subtitle on this video is just for post production. If you watch with te cc one, it will be hard to understand as the show goes on.

The iron bullying thing
Unfortunately this kdrama is based on several real cases that occurred in Korea☹️ and I think the series took it easy portraying the cases because in reality they were worse
This is an amalgam of at least three different true stories/actions. Yes, a young woman was bullied and burned with a curling iron in South Korea, as an adult she did an interview about it and this story. I read recently though that she did unalive herself not too long ago. The second story was about a boy who was bullied in South Korea who waited 12 years to seek revenge he tried to set up a class reunion and then attempted to blow up the venue when all of those bullies arrived. He was found out the day before I believe so the plan was thwarted and he was arrested. So the bullying with the curling iron and the waiting years for revenge came from those two incidents. There have also been real-life incidents of abuse by teachers which has been challenged not too long ago and is no longer allowed in schools. This was an awesome series - great reaction.
Oh yeah really want to achara to watch glory ...🎉
I've been bullied not to this extent but it still haunts me everyday
The glory is one of the best series i have ever seen amazing and heartbroken 😢
My bullying experience was more psychological, but watching the show triggered repressed memory when I just let people burn my skin with cigarettes… I was 15, I felt nothing and didn’t even defend myself. I couldn’t fully understand that was part of one of the many was I had been dehumanized by my peers.
You know those glue stick guns? An older kid used to "accidently" burnt with it a couple of times. The things happened to multiple kids. But nothing to the extent of this one kid in particular was constantly targeted by the same bully; like every single day and I was a bystander. I was a kid myself but I never forgot that one time I witness the bully stab that kid palm with a pencil so hard it pierced through the other side. I always wondered where and how that kid ends up. Oh, I know where the bully ended up. Apparently, there's rumour that he went to jail for murder but i did research; it was actually for drug and arsons.
I can’t wait for you to see how Dong Euns story unfolds!
yes!! achara and vivian :D
This show is based on true story and the sad news is the actual victim on this story Pyo Yerim (in real life) just passed away 4 days ago by suicide
These kind of bullying is common in korean. I would suggest you to watch Stephanie soo's video about this Glory series. She talks in details about the real events of bullying there.
welcome to this crazy k-drama~
This show has a pilot episode which is hard to even complete.....its very sad....Song hye kyo is my fav
It's the best drama ever.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Oh my, ladies. You find a feelgood show with cute characters.😉
잘 보고 갑니다 😊😊
I still can't believe how this is a true story.. such evil world we live
this is what happening in sk now, theres a case where a girl bullied her classmates by pulling out each one of her classmate's teeth and fingers nails
some might think the bullying is excessive and the evilness of the bullies are over-the-top but some of these scenes are based on real-life cases and they're even much worse. oftentimes it's how they were raised but i've personally met bullies whose parents are upstanding kind people who tried to raise their children well. the other siblings are kind too but their one child just turned out to be rotten who can appear nice around authority figures but evil among people she thinks are weak and powerless. when the parents found out, they disciplined her accordingly and made her apologize to everyone she hurt directly so it shows that they don't spoil their child. it's a sad reality that there are truly evil people who just find joy and sense of superiority in making other people suffer.
Oh, yeah. Please react to "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" or "Twinkling Watermelon" after this for something lighter.
Do "My Name".

Yes ma'am yesss
BTS information: the main character ask the production to wait for 2/3 months for her to be really skinny and to achieve unhealthy body fit, as the character that she hold doesnt need to look pretty to make it more realistic..thats what really makes me impressed with song hye kyo..the precisely detail that makes the character sing better
Teachers are also bullied mentally so bad by the parents. I keep hearing about the unalives b/c of it. Super sad. It always upsets me though when Teachers bully/hit kids in these movies, cause what?! This show's curling iron bullying did happen real life in Korea.
Now I understand why Carrie snapped.
