This character Ajumma was so heartfelt.. It really felt like she represented mothers that are victims of domestic violence who are fighting back.. Until now in her character's ending, her search for her daughter represents reality that the struggle never ends.. But still she continues to fight for her child..

She was having the time of her life doing detective work. Her character development was great.

I feel like the reason why she did them so earnestly was because dong eun gave her a platform to stand up for herself, to make her life feel worthwhile after all that abuse from her husband. She’s so… honest 😭 like her character is one of the nicest I’ve seen in this drama

Yes, she didn’t just do her bidding, Dong-uen also taught her many skills or got her to learn them (e.g. the driving). So in a way, she was being empowered and finding what she likes to do, enforcing her sense of identity which made her stronger within.

i'm glad Moon included her and helped her out of a bad situation, and gave her the confidence she thought she didn't deserve.

Likely to signify a rebirth and to live for herself. Most of her adult life, she would have likely been living under her husband's abuse and making ends meet and caring for her daughter. Thus the red lipstick is to remind her to bloom and that she too deserves to have a new beginning and to have hopes and dreams in her life for herself and her daughter.

@@PorcelainxMe Yep that too but also I guess I just felt like in general if not applying to her specific case it was some sort of reminder. I'm not the best at describing this but like when Hye ran said if she were to ever be reincarnated she'd be a cool spy putting red lipstick on. And then Dong eun mentioned she could just do that in this current life of hers, why is it that she thought she couldn't put red lipstick on in this life? Why do we imagine and wish doing things in some other life when it's possible to do so now. Idk if my point went across but yeah that's what I really thought about that scene

Same, she first caught my attention as the annoying and mean aunt of Euntak in Goblin! She truly shines here!

She was so cool the stronger she became. I would be friends with her.

She is a fantastic actress, loved her in this it was a powerful performance, loved her in Uncanny Counters too.

I'm so glad that Hyeon Nam felt inspired by Moon to stand up for herself and to no longer put up with anymore abuse. First it was her asshole husband that she wanted dead because she endured physical and emotional abuse from him for years. Then she finally got to slap that piece of shit Yeon-jin twice in the face. She certainly wasn't going to put with anymore threats. Plus, I'm glad that she managed to put the fear of God into Yeon-jin.

I actually teared up during her scene where her vile husband is hurting her and she has to say goodbye to her daughter. It was so difficult to watch, especially knowing some women actually go through that. But I loved her strength.

Yeom Hye-Ran ❤ have admired your acting in every series that you have been. You are so effortless in any charachter you play. The best supporting actor any main leads could have. You have played Mum, Sister, Aunt but this is your most iconic charachter. I just loved you in it. I hope script writers write more roles which bring out the best in you. Can you play a bad ass killer or get to play a romantic lead in a mature love story. You wld be superb 👌 👏
