This song helped me keep my sanity while my Daughter was dying of cancer. Driving a truck kept from home more than I would have liked in that chapter of my life. I would listen to this song a dozen times a night....remembering she is (was) still alive. I took it quite literally. If she's still alive, everything is alright....but I knew (the inevitability), if only for the night. She died at the age of 20 May, 6th, 2021. I haven't felt like everything was alright since then. I have forgotten. Now, I know the song has little to nothing to do with what I've "used" is for...but ti's mine now, and you can't have it back. I just wanted to say thank you. *EDIT: (11/19/2023) I want to thank everyone for your comments...I am grateful for your thoughts. Tried to listen to the song today....got about 40 seconds in...nope, not yet. Hold your loved ones tight, and then tighter still. Not a day has gone by yet where I'm convinced "everything is alright"....life goes on, it's different, but it goes on. Again...thank you. Her name is/was Hailey.

I was having a really bad day, in a very bad part of my life. I was crying and I turned on the radio. This song came on. When I heard the lyrics « Everything is alright » it calmed me down a little, and now, whenever I feel anxious and sad, I play this. It brings me back to that time but it helps me *so* much because *Everything* *will* *be* *alright* Edit 4 years later (08/2023): Over the years this has become my comfort song, guaranteed to help me whenever I have a panic attack. This song means so much to me.

Makes it easier when you stop identifying with certain genres and just let the mood take you to whatever music you need that day. Some days im metal. Some days it's soft rock. Others it's rap. And sometimes its electronica. Getting bogged down with genres is how you miss out on great music.

Thanks so much Glorious Sons for songs like this and S.O.S. I’ve been going through things in life that nobody should ever have to go through...depression sucks, infidelity sucks, cancer sucks, and sometimes life just sucks...so many nights I’ve wanted to end it all, but then I find a song like this that helps me get through another day, another night, helping me to see a light at the end of the tunnel, to keep pushing forward. There’s been so many times I’ve reached the end of my rope, but songs like this help me get through the darkest moments in life and give me hope and strength to tie a knot in the end of my rope and keep going. So thank you, and keep writing songs like this because you never know who it may help.

I'm not sure why - but I feel this one of the most important songs I've heard in years. Even my wife agrees and we seldom agree on anything. She likes stuff like Oliver and the Sound of Music. When you have a song this powerful any video treatment almost ruins it. Video is okay. The SONG is what's important.

Lyrics: I spent all my money on a pack of cigarettes For a lady that I love with the name I forget That night I taught her how to laugh She taught me how to slow dance I tried to take her home she said "you don't stand a chance" I'm the closest thing my mother had to a daughter I used to be amshamed of that but now I'm kind of flattered I learn that my weakness is a weapon anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in forty days Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like I set out on a dream that I couldn't understand It made me happy, sad, love, lonely and I don't know what I had A few too many favours from a few to many fake friends I wake up in the afternoon and do it all again Yeah, I punched a man on his wedding night I'm still trying to figure out how to apologize I learned that morning I can't fix nothing anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in 40 days Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Oh oh oh (Can you feel it baby) Oh oh oh Oh oh oh (I can feel it baby, I feel it coming through) Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like I spent all my money on a pack of cigarettes For a lady that I love with the name I forget And I learned that morning I can't fix nothing anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in forty days

I listen to this song and all I get out of it is he is in pain he is asking for help with his mental health. Like I am. I struggle with depression. This video portrays what my brain is doing on a regular basis. I may be completely wrong but I listen to this song when I am having a bad day. It makes me feel understood. Thanks for the music.

I spent all my money on a pack of cigarettes For a lady that I love with the name I forget That night I taught her how to laugh She taught me how to slow dance I tried to take her home she said "you don't stand a chance" I'm the closest thing my mother had to a daughter I used to be amshamed of that but now I'm kind of flattered I learn that my weakness is a weapon anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in forty days Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like I set out on a dream that I couldn't understand It made me happy, sad, love, lonely and I don't know what I had A few too many favours from a few to many fake friends I wake up in the afternoon and do it all again Yeah, I punched a man on his wedding night I'm still trying to figure out how to apologize I learned that morning I can't fix nothing anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in 40 days Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Oh oh oh (Can you feel it baby) Oh oh oh Oh oh oh (I can feel it baby, I feel it coming through) Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like Everything is alright If only for the night I forgot what it feels like I spent all my money on a pack of cigarettes For a lady that I love with the name I forget And I learned that morning I can't fix nothing anyway So I haven't touched a pretty thing in forty days

Going through the most difficult time in my life with husband and our daughter. I’ve been so close to really giving up, ending my life... it’s been so hard... hearing those words “everything’s alright” from this song... I broke down at a stop on the way home from work. I just balled, It all came out. This song FUCKING SAVED ME... IS saving me. EDIT: I’ve heard of a saving grace, I believe this song is mine...

vxCOCOxv Seek Jesus. He saved me and sounds like he is calling you. I didn’t believe he cared about me but when I sought after him with a humble heart he revealed himself to me. He’s the saving grace and speaks to us in many ways including songs even if they aren’t considered Christian.

Amen! I agree completely! Jesus impresses on us ALL OF THE TIME; and before we KNOW Him.. he KNOWS us and He wants a relationship with us. He will find you when you least expect it; open your heart and let Him in, He offers a peace you can't imagine.

Hmm, I think the least needed thing for someone who's going through hard times is subjugation to an invisible - not to mention nonexistent - being; not least because of the corrosion of will inevitably caused by said subjugation.
