I think you should pursue your dream without fear. I did a project on stuttering for one of my early neuroscience classes and learned that things like singing and reciting written lines use a different part of your brain than regular talking/conversing as in verbally expressing your own thoughts in real time. There is decades of documentation on stutterers reciting poetry, acting parts and singing solos - and doing it beautifully.
