Every summer I take several trips in my ‘22 touring or my ‘25 speedster. I’ve owned Model T’s for years and have become very comfortable driving these 90 to 100 year old cars. Using the pedals has become as natural as driving a three speed with a clutch. I’ll have a Model T for as long as I’m alive. I call the act of driving them “The Model T Shuffle.”

Wow! My dad was a mechanic in his younger years, and worked on T's, but never had actually driven one. I had a co-worker who had a '23 truck, and she told me to bring him over! He got to actually drive a Model T at about age 88! He had told the story in the '60s that while working part time a a gas station he had heard a Model T drive into the station. He said there was no mistaking that engine sound, and he rushed out to have a look! After hearing one for the first time, I understood what he meant. Now, if I hear a T, I know.exactly what I am hearing. Dad died four years ago at 97. Thanks for the show, and the memories, Matt!

That. is awesome. I learned how to drive in a 1933 Chevrolet. There were still plenty of Model A's around, then.

I rode in a T runabout a year or so ago which quite exhilarating with modern traffic! A couple houses down the way a guy has an older resto '24 touring that hasn't been out in a while. I'm keeping my eyes opened for when it comes up for sale. I'd love a stock T to go with my A doodlebug and stock '37 tudor.

That was brilliant Matt, I so enjoyed watching & listening to Jim talk you through the controls & the Dearborn experience. The centre door has been one of, if not my favourite Model T’s for many years. Doctor’s Coupes turn up once in a while here in England & there’s a centre door that’s been a Street Rod since the 70’s. It’s built along the lines of the Li’l John Buttera car, shiny stuff everywhere and finished in Pearlescent British Racing Green. Thanks for taking us along for the drive, from the U.K. 🇬🇧

Thoroughly enjoyed that T lecture with Tim Matt. What a grand master he is and I loved his philosophy on the owners being caretakers. With folk about like him the T will be around for another hundred years.

Took my Dad to do the driving experience a few years ago, we had a great time! A model T drives like no other car out there, I was surprised how a car could have basically zero ergonomics.

l grew up w/ a 32' hotrod w/ a Ford 239 flathead v8. My dad made it from the junkyard in the 50s trying to quit smoking. My mom sold it for $14,500 in 1980 when my dad passed so it was a decent build. I drove it one time before we sold it.

My uncle let me drive his model A in high school. He didn’t even let his own kid drive it. I remember I was too tall for my foot to hit the starter. He laughed like hell because I would have to reach down with my hand to push the foot starter switch. Then we’re driving down the road and he tell me, “next week im going to fix the brakes”.

Being brought up watching Laurel and Hardy films, always been familiar with Model Ts. The way to drive them sounds very awkward. The examples there look stunning. I like how thee same chassis provides cars that range across the whole social structure, from a lowly flat bed truck, to what looks like quite a posh sedan.

I have no idea why we never went to the Gilmore! I found out ya cain't do everything! I sold my Model A, bought a Model T project, and had no idea how to drive it. It was a1926 touring. I bought bumper brackets and bumpers, hoping I woudn't bend my newly restored fenders. Somehow I drove it to lots of club rallys, cruises, and parades. At the time it seemed easy. Now just watching someone mashing those pedals confuses me! I was told if you get in trouble mash on any two pedals and pull the emergency hard.
