"2 sets of leaves under the ground so that you blooms come from under the ground" Did I hear correctly? I wish I knew that before I planted mine. You're always super helpful. Thank you!!

Yes that's right. I did the same on last year's videos. It's not a normal meathod, but I am trying it. There are other things that need doing to get them growing from the buried joints.

I have never worked it out. At an absolute guess, I would say about 300 on producing the plants ( that's for about 900 this year) which I donate spares to society plant sales and other growers. And maybe £250 on feeds and sprays and replacing canes and string, and the mypex. Then it's petrol money to get to the shows, maybe £200 depending on how many and where. Some of the petrol money would be layer off against prize money, but you can't rely on that. So over all a fraction of a season ticket to a football team and less than playing golf lol of which I do neither. I would say a good value for money hobby considering the extent I do it to.

@@DaveGillamDahlias You're right Dave, the pleasure & enjoyment growing the flower's gives you is worth every penny. I've planted 12 tubers this year and really looking forward to seeing the bloom's. Thanks for the vids 👍👍

Dave, This season your not growing any "Dave's Choice" I thought you might have had some in your bed of odd's and sods? As the season moves on will you find it harder to put side dressing's around the plant's because of the covers. Will you still have to hand water these bed's over the summer. Let's hope it's a good summer. Cheer's, Chris Perry.

No only Giants this year. Shouldn't make much difference to side dressing as there is a hole. Yes still 70 watering cans every time I water and feed.

@@DaveGillamDahlias 70 watering cans, it sounds easy when you say it quickly. I admire your persistance. For me I doubt my couch would let me be away for so long. Cheer's Chris Perry.
