Exactly. I wonder what happened to her son? Hopefully he went to live far away so he wouldn’t feel shame for being born outside of wedlock. Back then it was very hard for unwed mothers. They were the victims of ostracization in their communities and their children also victims while the men, the people who didn’t marry them, probably never felt regret or ostracization.

She's definitely talking to the player on the last encounter. Firstly, because it makes sense for it to just be a spine tingling moment after visiting her ghost repeatedly who had until then been seemingly unaware of the player's presence. She's inviting them to the tree so she can reveal to them the final part of her sad story. The "I love you" line are her last living words (uttered as her ghost disappears forever), and not necessarily connected to her asking the player over. The way I interpret it, the calm and kinda sad tone in her voice, more than being evidence of a breakdown, is more likely her being grateful at the player for listening to her tragedy, and thus setting her free, as well as her leaving a flower behind near her tree as a final thank you and farewell.

This literally made me cry at the end. The VA did such and incredible job at portraying the love this woman had, then the anger and despair, the desperate longing because she never stopped loving the man, and then finally the snap of her fragile sanity and absolute hopelessness. This VA embodied this part with her whole soul - you could feel it. The music paired with this was just perfect, too.

It's not really important, there's a show about it in Valentine where two children are in the forest and a headless redcoat decapitated the boy, the girl went to Annesburg or somewhere near there and told the townsfolk that there's a ghost, people accused her of witchcraft and killed her.

You've heen encountering her near the said tree for several times now, so she relates to the tree as "our" (yours and hers). She finally invites you closer... just to see how she ended up... Maybe that was whole ordeal that she's at peace know having told her story to you... She just needed someone to listen to her...

To be honest: that was the thing Rockstar were trying to achieve here - to make a story to be discussed from something that obscure as whining ghost. And that they did.

The Apex Fighter I find it pathetic and naive when you can't get over someone who doesn't want you. She could not cope with it, she destroyed the man's family, is responsible for his death, killed her father and herself, leaving her baby behind. Of course, this is a well written side story, the actress performed well and things like that make the game a masterpiece. But She was just out of mind, like I said a crazy stalker, whoever does not see this is plain and simple. I wouldn’t play a game, if that’s the main plot so I don't share the opinion that someone could make a game about it. If you disagree, start a petition, maybe R * will help you out.

@@pcmld2267 I think the first sentence is her referring to the player, and the second one with "come to our tree" is her referring to her lover now?? Orrr take the simpler thought that she simply mistook the player for her lover. Think of it like this: she IS deranged, and it's night AND foggy. It's pretty plausible to assume that, to her, the vague figure of a man in close proximity to her could be her lover. Most possibly her way to vent after, what, _16 years_ of being a ghost that's all alone with her feelings and memories? Or she just acknowledged the player was the player... that he was the one who encountered her the last 15 nights to watch the events leading to her death. And to show how her story ended, she acknowledged the player, and lead him to the final conclusion of her story.

She says 'our tree' because she believes the player to have been able to piece together her story and because she always appears in the area of that tree, a rather large tree with a noose hanging from it, it can be assumed the tree has significance.
