This was so much help! I had no idea that you could just use the coloured BIABs without a base 🙈 no idea that you could apply it that thick either! Genuinely always thought that you put base, a coat of builder and then whatever colour you wanted on top then top coat! No one tells you these things 😭

Do you file the nail before the first coat? Did you do any prep?

Do you have to use the topcoat from the gelbottle or can I use a different one?

Are there any builder gel that do not need to be cured meaning no ivy/led lamp needed? Thanks

This is such a great video thank you! I find my builder gel isn’t flat and has some bumps in when applied which makes the nail look strange. Do you have any tips for stopping/ preventing this?

Aw thank you! 💜 When applying the builder gel make sure you have a ball of the product right on the tip of your brush so you can easily control where you’re placing it and also make sure you are using light pressure to float the product around and down the nail (using too much pressure will create bumpy streaks) Hope that helps! 😊💕

Aw, thats lovely to hear, thank you 💜 Rubber base is stronger than the regular 2in1 base(which i think is better for toes!) It's perfect if you or your client would like extra strength and don't need Builder Gel. It also needs to be used under Clear & White BIAB as they don't have base coat in them like the coloured BIAB's do! Hope that helps! 😊

I like to use a 100/180 buffer, 100 to refine then 180 to smooth it out before top coat! 💜

Hi how did you prep your nails, I’m scared of ruining my natural nails with the nail drill or file but I was wondering if I buff them if the product would stay on. I use the gel tip system but I wanted something more natural with less damage

Hi Audrey, I always use a buffer on my natural nails, just to remove the shine - you don’t need to use much pressure or over buff! Hope that helps 😀

I usually do 2 nails at a time and thumbs separately 😊 Depends how quick you are, you could do 1 nail at a time 💜

Do you need to apply a base coat underneath BIAB? Or do you just go straight in with application?

If you are using The Gel Bottle you only need to use base coat with the clear and the white biab, all other colours have primer and base coat in them 😊

I love the BIAB. It's a bit more runny than what I've used before (Luminary) but I like the application better. I did one hand with the rubber base coat and one without to see if it would affect lifting of the BIAB, but it doesn't. I do notice less tip wear on the side with the rubber base underneath though.

Just found your channel and I'm loving all of the content! I am kinda new to doing my own gels, so sorry if this is a silly question but what is the difference between normal gel and builder gel? Is it harder? Can you use it under regular gel for additional strength?

Aw thank you so much, I’m glad you are enjoying my channel 😊 Builder Gel is stronger than regular gel polish, it’s great for people that are heavy handed or have weak/damaged nails and also if they’ve been used to the strength from Acrylic for example! 😊 It’s really great for growing your nails. It’s thicker, harder and stronger! Yes you can use builder under gel polish, I have a video on this coming soon! 💜

is builder gel what you would use to do gel toes? i’m super confused at what course i would take to be qualified in this.

Builder gel is more for manicures for the extra strength, generally you would just use gel Polish for toes. You can do builder gel courses if that’s specifically what you’d like to train in 😊

Do these make your nails weak if you use them a lot? I've been trying to grow out my nails but they always end up chipping or breaking, with or without strengthening polishes so I was hoping to find something a little stronger to protect from chips and breakage.

Something I have used in combination with using builder gel, has been drinking green smoothies every day I have seen a massive increase in nail growth and strength.

So, which one is the one you apply first? And what is the name of the thick one (pink) Or is it the same one but heavier? Then I see you use the top coat because you show it and also do you cure the nails after each application? I'm a little bit confused Thank you.

Yes it’s the same one , you use a thin layer first (don’t cure it ) and then you use a thicker layer .

Usually cracks appear when something that is too hard for your nail is applied, if you are getting cracks you probably need something more flexible on your nail 💜

Hi! Did you apply just two layers of BIAB, right? Just wondering cause I read an application guide from The Gel Bottle. It says to apply three layers of BIAB.

You can apply 2 or 3 layers, depending what works best for you. You can apply 1 thin layer and then 1 thicker layer or 3 thin layers 😊

I always use the 99 second low heat mode for Builder Gel 😊 60 seconds for any other gels! x

Not with any of these coloured builder gels by The Gel Bottle (only with white & clear!) It would depend which brand you are using 😊

Is it right that it leaves a tacky layer? Its not that tacky that its not dry but more a "wipe off layer" when i add my topcoat it's gone. I cure my nails on 48 watt low heat setting 99 seconds ( new lamp ).

Yep that’s completely normal! Gel’s always have an inhibition layer unless it’s a no wipe top coat. I always find the builder gel to not be quite as tacky as base and colour layers 💜
