Initial Application:
Opens July 14- Closes September 15
They may ask you to submit your FAFSA by the last day of October!
My advice to you is to follow up with the Gates Foundation to make sure they have received your FAFSA via email or text. They will let you know if they’ve had any issues with receiving your FAFSA IF you follow up with them. You need make sure your Student Aid Report (basically it’s the calculation from your FAFSA) is submitted to the foundation ASAP
Phase 2/ Semifinals:
Notified November 15,
see email login to TGS portal 2,000 advancees Need to write 4 essays, 2 teacher rec letters, list current extracurriculars
Deadline to submit semifinalist material is January 15
Finals: Notified March 1,
see email login to TGS portal 600 advancees Interview with trained interviewers The interviewer will contact you in 48 hours to schedule a time to interview
Decision: April 20- Decision Day
***One last thing: the Gates Scholarship is being administered by a nonprofit called the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. If you try to call the Gates Foundation and HSF answers, you’re in the right place LOL!
