The Garinagu (Garifuna) History & TimeLine (Part 1)

This video's purpose is to stress to Africans in America and the world that our history did not start with slavery in the New World. The Ancient Ancestors of Egypt and West Africa traveled to the New World, traded and exchanged cultural ideas with the inhabitants. This irrefutable and historical fact is very important to the African psyche here in America. This video shares insights about the Garifuna, the Taino and the myth of extinction as part of the Caribbean Indigenous Legacies There is a foundational layer of indigenous culture throughout the Caribbean.. Also I used to live in an area in calliaqua, on the land where we used to live, was getting eroded. There were skeletons and also spear head and axes being exposed. That place is now a parking lot, I'm sure if they do archeological research they will find remnants there. That land was haunted too

Ben Seka yes I am aware..... this is what has been done to all the indigenous people of the world..... the erase our history because they don’t want you to know the greatness of our culture and history also to establish there culture and religion which was forced upon us ..... I watched a Documentary called Hidden Colors and they spoke of the South Pacific being was all black and most people have Afros and thick hair and are mostly Melenated Hence the name Melenasia..... I know your culture is rich..... you should trace your DNA that should help put some of the pieces to the puzzle together

This is a well researched piece of information about the Garinagu people. I have always questioned my people's history in relation to the presence of Africans in the Caribbean prior to European arrivals. It is very obvious that there were Africans in the Caribbean, Central and South America for thousands of yours. It's sad that many Garinagu are misinformed about their historical origins.

Francis Flores thanks for your appreciation..... I think we as Garifuna should be taught by our own scholarship and not other people who aren't Garinagu..... because In our Language along there is so much historical evidence in us tracing back to Africa and the Caribean as well that proves us being here for plenty of years before the arrival of Europeans.... the History books wont tell us that we been here for ever because the Columbus story will be debunked.....Peace and blessings

Very interesting. Do you have any more research on first contact with the Malian expedition of discovery? I have like you seen the royal origins of the Garinagu. The Ruben Reyes video short of Garifuna comparing language similarities with their Weyu family a testament to that. Lokono territory and Weyu and Karina were all very close. The island people of the Karina became the Kalina and the Kalinago. The question is were the Kalinago in fact the yellow, red, black family of the merger of Karina/Kalina and their celestial navigator new family from the African continent. Your help and input would be most appreciated. Seremein niabu.

Garifuna / Black Caribs are descendance of Mali Sultan Abu-Bakr II expedition who the left the Mali empire around 1312 to find the end of the Atlantic ocean. in 1312 Mansa Musa the richest man ever succeeded Sultan Aba Bakr when he did not return from his expedition. This ship wreck narrative is a lie b/c there would have been some white Spanish blood within the Garifuna genes and there are none. Plus there are no Spanish words in the Garifuna language.

Peace and blessings that is a good history that you added on to honestly Garifuna people are really mixed with many different ethnic countries and African cultures in the western part of the continent of Africa. The fact that we have been like the maroons of the islands of the Caribbean we are a mixture of many different cultural backgrounds. So when you look at our cultural dancing there’s a lot of Nigerian moved in there they’re also are a lot of Mali and cultural traditions in there in fact we have a ritual still practice today called the Mali. These cultural connections and traditions that we have are still spread out throughout all of Africa when it comes to the dogon tribe even ancient sub-Saharan treats as well. The actual root core of Garifuna people started in the Caribbean islands which basically means a mixture of African and Caribbean Indian people. We have never lost our language nor our culture because we have fought to keep it for many years in fact if you do an ancestry or DNA you will find that we have Nigerian Malian Congo Niger just to name a few we are all connected in many ways. And after the trans Atlantic slave trade we are a mixture of many different cultural Backgrounds from the African continent Peace
