Would anyone else just watch an entire movie, entirely made of artwork by Makoto Shinkai? Without any characters or plot - just music and artwork.

For those who are interested in the works of Makoto Shinkai and want have a closer look on them, a 200 pages long artbook is going to be published soon under the title: "A Sky Longing for Memories: The Art of Makoto Shinkai" One can pre-order it from bookdepository par exemple. I guess it's going to be wonderful!

To me the garden represents the necessary process of growth. Much like the growth cycle of a plant, a tree, or a fish in a pond, it symbolises the boy's desire to mature and to enter the mysterious world of adulthood. Similarly, the woman teacher, finding herself in an unpleasant and pressuring environment desires to be young again; to revert to the glory and the blurred comfort of childhood... that's why shes so drawn to the boy - he has opened her eyes to her past youth. To me, the teacher is the boy's gateway to a world of potential, whereas the boy is the teacher's refuge. Therefore, the garden as a embodiment of growth and maturation is the perfect middleground for them to meet

+Leguard it's tanka though, which is similar in structure. in japanese, the syllables for a haiku go 5-7-5 whereas a tanka is 5-7-5-7-7. So basically, it's a haiku that has been extended. It'd be rather weird to like a tanka while disliking haiku format since it has the haiku format within it.

It's raining again... It was another dark cloudy day. Droplets of water as if there were a waterfall outside my window. Rain fell out of the skies. The smell of freshly brewed coffee, with the smell of freshly made cake resting on the window ledge. A phone layed next to it with a small puddle of spilled wine. As i watched this window for days I couldnt feel like going anywhere. Stuck inside a cage that didnt belong to me. I was a animal entrapped in someone elses trap. Things continued the same way for days on end. Looking outside at the same old dark raining skies.. I wonder.. If i was in love would these clouds of hatred, sadness, and fear would dissappear? But no. This world is full of lairs, cheats, and fake friends. I could never fall in love. Could never... The months changed from Spring to Summer... The raining season ended... I was still here. Trapped within someone elses Snare. The sunny days slowly came to an end. The room i was in never changed. I never changed. I didnt want to change. However.. Morever. You... You could... You could move mountains with your smile. You can make my rain clouds dissappear in a day. You are the reason im here. Not my parents, friends, nor anything else anyone could think of. IT WAS YOU! You are the one i held onto. Like a babybgrasping for her mothers hand. I held you tight once we met. Speaking of which we met one raining day... Like any normal day.. The rain fell as the gods need it be. But today was different. The phone buzzed with a text from someone i didnt know. It read "Hi, nice to meet you. Im ______ would you like to chat for abit?" I replied with "No thanks." hoping that she'd leave me alone. But it was my text that changed the whole entirety of my life. The next day... Days more... And more... Those clouds outside my window slowly faded away. We talked for hours. Days and nights it was almost as if we had fallen in love with eachother. When i talked with her. The clouds outside my window would turn to a mirage of colors with a soft violin playing in the background accompanied by a soft keystroke of a piano. But it still rained. The color was just different. Nothing had changed... Only the colors... But even so.. It was beautiful with her around me. (unfinished. No clue where this was going lmao (˘̩̩̩ε˘̩ƪ) ( Ĭ ^ Ĭ )

I was on an Emirates flight when I saw that they had kept a complete collection of Makoto Shinkai movies including Your Name in their catalogue. It was a happy surprise, especially after watching Your Name. But watching this movie made me an emotional mess. I loved the way he portrayed a mature relationship in this story and made us feel so uncomfortable in the fact that their relationship was so natural that it was insulting to spy in their life. The piano they used heightened this feeling wonderfully and I have only praise left for this movie. Thank you so much for uploading this.

Well, IDK, but if the other person who you like likes you too, and you two are willing to live with and for each other forever, then TRANCEND the limits of this pathetic world and ignore its harshness, and find peace, and I hope you do. And I hope you do read it. Because if you don't, then it'll be a scar for your life, and time flies. So just GO! Good luck!

DAYZED... A small breeze... A chirp of a bird passing by.. The clear blue skies.. The warm touch of you. The smiles we interchanged. Laughter... But as these days continued. Our song had just started, as if Chopin wrote it himself. These ups and downs of our life was incredible. A day at the beach, another at home together in a silk touched bed. But... But... Everyhing has to end someday, this piece that had been playing has met its peak... Dark blue skies. The song of others played. Tuked away the sun hid from me. A warm touch held me hand. Yes I know. Shes gone. The countless days and nights. The song we had together was slowly coming to a stop. The light through the trees faded day by day. Soon they were gone, the hand I held beside me was all I had. Our daughter. But... But... She... This color? Looking at her, she brought light everywhere she went. As if we were polar opposites. "Daddy, dont be sad. Mommys gone but I still have you right?" The memories came back. " You surely do darling." Staring into the sunset, it was as if I could almost see the white blue skies again. " Daddy, I wanna hug!" "Sure little one. Haha" Grasping her, She brough the same amount of warmth as her mother. Closing my eyes and reopening them. The colors... They.. The sky.. How... As if the world was splattered by a painters paint. As if a raindbow had broken and fallen down to earth. The world around me gained new color. The sky was clear. And. I could finally let go of the past. And so.... I cried.

Garden of Words is a stunningly beautiful and emotionally powerful film that truly captures the essence of human connection and the beauty of nature. From the breathtakingly detailed animation to the poignant and heartfelt story, every element of this film is a masterpiece. The way the characters' lives intertwine and the depth of their relationship is portrayed with such subtlety and nuance that it's impossible not to be moved by their journey. And the way the rain and the gardens are depicted is simply mesmerizing - it's as if we can feel the wetness of the raindrops and the lushness of the foliage. It's films like this that remind us of the incredible power of animation to touch our hearts and souls in ways that no other medium can. Thank you, Makoto Shinkai, for creating such a beautiful and unforgettable masterpiece
