Lot of people don't know this but, The Gap brothers were really talented and it was a pleasure working with them and seeing it all unfold. Charlie would do all his vocals in one take, unbelievably talented! I laid all of the ground tracks on this one at Capitol Records studio in Hollywood back in 1983. I remember this session like yesterday. R.I.P. Robert and Ronny!

That's so cool! What an accomplishment. I just want to say thank you for having a hand in bringing their music to the masses. It's not a party until the Gap Band starts playing. It's also scientifically impossible to be sad when listening to their music.

Yep, you definitely won out in the game of life in regard to timing. You were not only old enough to remember all of the 80s, but you got to enjoy it as an adult too! OMG, the fashions, the music, the quality of manufactured goods, the purchasing power of a dollar, the coke without any fentanyl in it.. and you get to check out from natural causes well before the world is destroyed from climate change. Good times.

I'm 77+, & I used to work at a club called "Dance Your Ass Off" in downtown San Diego...there was NO getting service from the wait/management staff when this jam came on. We might've had a couple dozen folks working, but they'd all throw down what they were busy with & invade the postage-stamp-sized dance floor en masse(pardon my inability to effectively use the hybrid Swedish/Japanese/Martian dialective conglomeration in which my pet rats were raised back in the day-) with manic enthusiasm. It could get awkward. It could become most definitely painful. Some of us would fall down, repeatedly, but nobody seemed to mind. Many billion yrs later(+ -👀), those memories help to keep this old shaky-booty-being being one. Thank you, Lord, thank you, dear Gap Band, & thank you to my{alleged} brain!!! 🎶Y'all stay joyful & SAFE.🎶

Those were fun times! Great music from both the 70s and the 80s. Yes, they were more innocent times but that was before "social media". Sadly I don't think folks are capable of going backward...I mean ...[generalizing here] you wish for a return to those times which were mostly giant cellphone free, no one had a computer. We'd get our news from tv/radio, newspapers and magazines. Guys would actually have to wander out of their parents basements to find the young lady he was interested in to talk/hang out and go to her parents house to ask for a date. How on earth would we even be able to go back to all that without some messed up scenario? LOL.

Amazing Talent, Beautiful Spirit filled Brother. Sad that Charlie does not have his Brothers next to him here on Earth, but they live on in each and every song right next to him in Ruach. None the less he carries on Blessed and Very thankful for God's Grace. We Love you Uncle Charles Roll On!

This song makes work so much more enjoyable while working on a 'Finish' with my Dad. He loves playing The Gap Band on Pandora. Today we were having lunch in the work truck and he says "You go Charlie!".

AS @BLACKCATS MATTER SAID, "We were a colorblind generation because we partied together. " I PRAY SOMEDAY SOON WE CAN SEE THIS LOVE FOR ALL MEN COME BACK FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN !
