The Gangnam Policeman - Devon and Cornwall Police Dance Gangnam Style
We produced this tongue-in-cheek charity video, featuring officers from Devon and Cornwall Police (in their own time), to raise money for 12-year-old Josh Wilson, who was left with disabilities after suffering a brain tumour.
Following treatment the youngster, from Bury, now has severe neuromuscular disabilities that require a fully-adapted home; his family needs to raise £25,000 to pay for a ceiling track hoist, a special medical bath, building work and other basic equipment.
Anyone wanting to donate to Joshua's Journey fund can do so via: www.superjosh.co.uk
Sergeant Gary Watts 'persuaded' colleagues from the town station to join him in a public re-creation of the cult music video by South Korean rapper Psy.
Officers and PCSOs put their dancing skills to the test to film the parody at various locations in the town, including Falmouth Quay.
The officers performed for the video in their own time.

British police officers have a sense of humour 😎
I love it when police show they are one of us and part of the community rather than moderators of it, separate and above the citizens. Absolute shame he was sacked for not adhering to the superior douchebaggery mentality the higher-ups are trying to maintain. You know society is totally fucked when leaked vids of police abusing citizens to meet arrest quotas are valued in the force over vids of officers dancing with citizens to raise money for a disabled child.

He was sacked for gross misconduct, the police stated it was unrelated to the video, perhaps you read it from a "news" outlet who decided to hide some facts from you.

How does this video lessen the amount of confidence we have in this particular public servant? If anything it gives me more, knowing that this police officer has an emotional value towards something quite obviously shows to me that he is a trusted member of the police force. I'd rather more people like Gary be in the force than some emotionless human just working to get paid.
With my history of issues I still can't help Laughing 🤣
I am seeing this late, but I just want to say I found this as great entertainment, you are great Officers for doing something like this, I believe Police should be allowed to do more community engagement such as this, as it shows their presence and that but its how the Police Force runs, anyway I am sorry to hear that you were Dismissed, great work and I hope the best for Josh.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't sacked for this. It's a year old and there is no grounds for sacking based on what is seen here.

He was sacked because his department see this as something that will make the community think lightly of them.. When in reality he's being an awesome officer. Truly helping the people rather than being fucking pigs.
Wow so well done and really awesome choreography and like the part when they are dancing on the cliff ridge!! Please keep on dancing
Excellent! Well done you guys! Well good enough for a donation. Good luck Josh!!

Garry. Sorry to hear you were dismissed because of this.
disgraceful to be sacked for this
Awesome vid guyz!
it's so great for the police to do something like this so close to home as I live very close to Falmouth
Nice Falmouth police
well done guy's excellent !!!!!!!!!!!
fantastic, well done!!
LMAO 🤣 this is amazing. Found this because my parrot loves this song and she bites the shit out of me when she wants to hear it when I'm playing music.
It's so terrible that I love it. Makes me legit angry someone lost their job over this. God forbid that Cops try to have fun and relate to their community!
I bet this video has gone viral 😘 😅👌😹😆😀
Great vid, great idea. The people who fired this policeman, if they did, are absolute c*nts.
I knew the sergeant, shame he's been sacked.
Can someone show me the proof of these people being fired?
Thats what happens when you do Gangnam style... you get fired
Only found this video recently!
I love the song gangman style

Awesome. And he wasn't dismissed for making this video you silly billies lol
Sly that he got sacked for it like
I really hope it's not true he was sacked for making this video and portraying Police Officers as human beings with a sense of humour. If he was sacked, the person responsible should be demoted for being a complete prick and for trying to make the Police look like inhuman Nazis.

Sorry to hear he got sacked.
I cant see a problem with this. All the people sayi g "tax payers money" need to understand that this was obviously something put together by the community and sponsered...its a joke he was dismissed for "inproper conduct" when its clear he is serving the community, which is an officers job "to protect and serve". This was probably filmed in 3 days max over 20 maybe 30 minute sessions. Which could be his lunch break...which he doesn't get paid for. Its diabolical what has happened to this officer and I for one would have more faith in tjis police officer than one who thinks its okay to racially discriminate...thats a waste of tax payers money
I doubt he got fired for this
Funny :DDD

this is great! shame he got sacked for this (LAD BIBILE). i actually think police should do this sort of thing more, makes them more human and not just some power exerting officials who think they can do what they like simply because of a uniform. (mostly this is untrue but there are a small handful that do and its understandable if anyone knows zimbardo's theory of deindividuation, and then people assume all police are like this)
Dancing bacon
Bull this police officer was in a way doing his job which is to "protect and serve" but is there a rule of doing things in uniform but there are exceptions to this rule like the following: Don't drink in uniform.

They sacked him for probably doing it in uniform, and therefore making the force look like a bit of a joke LFCEOIN. It says in the credits that it was done in free time
I completely support his efforts to raise money for that disabled kid, but he went about it completely the wrong way by wearing his uniform here. Policemen have to adhere to a certain level of standards and professionalism if they are to be taken seriously as law enforcers. Yeah you could say he was just having a laugh, or he's showing some emotion, or whatever... but his police unit can't (realistically) not act upon this video, which frankly, ridicules their authority. It would be like a court judge wearing a fluorescent clown wig to his trials; there's probably no law against it, but no one would take him seriously from then onwards. And as enjoyable as that would be to see, you wouldn't want him as a judge in a trial of yours, regardless of how much he made people laugh.
These are the very people who are expected to 'enforce' the law. Could be a better use for tax payers money... Doesn't exactly give me any more confidence.

My point is that they represent the whole force through the uniform and its a joke. Does not give me confidence in them. Sorry for having an opinion. Fair enough if it was in their own time, but they still represent the force in its entirety. Who's to say that I haven't donated to a cause?
@campionjj
10 жыл бұрын
representing the whole force in uniform doing a charitable thing. why does it not give you confidence in them when a 'public servant' is going beyond the call of duty to serve the public. there is no hidden agenda or controversy so why has a hard working and kind man been sacked. our local police force enters a pedal car race every year with a car they built with the local school its got all the police logos on flashing blue lights and a siren, it was on Russell howards good news, what is the difference?
