Only in small doses, though. I can tell Tom doesn't enjoy ranting about these piles of crap. But unfortunately, part of the job of being a critic is protecting consumers from terrible purchases.

I was already chuckling from the sarcasm about the spaces fitting the cars when you doubled down with the 'act like a Vasel' line. I think I hurt myself giggling. 🤣

Trouble is the board game that I remember playing the most often with my family when I was a child back in the late 60's/early 70's. For that reason, Trouble will always have a special place in my heart. So many wonderful memories with family members gone, but lovingly remembered. ; )

Steal a peg from somebody else? That's dark.

First episode I truly noticed how much weight Tom has lost. Awesome job!!

Actually, the thing I remember most about Life was the 3D board...with the hills and the buildings. I loved (and still love) those. Don't really give two thoughts about the spinner! :D

Flipping through Hasbro games on BGG it looks like their best recent-ish game was Star Wars Risk which is a slimmed down version of their popular but hard to find Queen’s Gambit game. (I have Star Wars Risk and played it a few times, it’s decent but not one of my favorites. 🤷‍♂️) Like Tom said, though, you have to go back to around Risk Legacy in 2000 to see really good games in their catalog.

I want Tom to review a HASBRO game at least once a week.

If I wanted a Pop-o-matic, I want a remake of TROUBLE or HEADACHE! Kohner...rest in peace.

As delightful as that earlier Monopoly evaluation! In all seriousness, I really prefer Dice Tower reviewing super awesome games down to utter trash over some channels that go from super awesome down to regular level of awesome. Knowing what people like _and_ dislike helps get a better feel of their breadth.

So even though there's very little game to Life, they removed it for this abomination. What an awful idea.

I've already figured out out to make this base game a euro style-lite and probly have it be mildly successful. When I have the time and money to build it, I will do that one day.

Someone at Hasbro should be paying Tom to consult with them on their new games.

I watch all your Hasbro ones for the laugh factor, I like hearing your complain about how bad they are because it sure looks that way so I'm not surprised.

Does anyone else think that at times Tom sounds like Wallace Shawn (Grand Nagus Zek in DS9)? Bits like 5:27 where his voice gets a higher pitch for example

Bleh, this game sounds like a drudge. Plus, once you read through the cards once then they're boring. I'd play it once for the experience then never again. The roll mechanism looks cool. I have no problem with that but the die itself turns the game into nothing but a yo-yo.

It's like my waking nightmare come to Life.

So what about that Taco Bell board game that is on the wall? We going to get a glowing review of that game as well?

Basically for Aunts to say “oh it’s Billy’s birthday. What toy thing does he like? I have no idea. Kids like games. I’ll get him a board game. Oh look. This is new. Sounds cool, and only $20. Sold!”

Tom doesn't even care anymore. He used to try and spare feelings but it's push him way to far and the judgement is, It's just Trash! " 🤣🤣🤣

I just told my husband about this game and he says, “it’s a joke, right?” Sadly, no.

When new games come out at Target, Tom goes and buys a bunch to do reviews on. He mentioned on a livestream he ran into Zee there last time.

They missed the boat on this game mashup.... It should have been called "Life of Trouble" And can we talk a moment about a card that lets the player STEAL SOMEONE ELSES CHILDREN!!!!

Pretty sure the pop-o-matic has only popped when you release it.

Yeah this looks horrible...I had Life as a kid and though of course it doesn't stack up to the games we have now, it had some good concepts you can still see. This mashup takes all those good things away. I wonder though, does Tom play these with his kids before review? I would like to see a Hasbro marathon with the DT guys someday; it would be more traumatizing than those tattoos!

I'm guessing this isn't where the hundreds of millions of dollars of profit Hasbro makes from Magic: the Gathering goes.

My family bought this and forced me to play and my feelings were the same as you. The sad thing is mass market gamers still think this crap is good so they'll keep making it.

So in short is like project elite... But Better!!!

I think Hasbro sends these just to piss Tom off. They know their audience doesn't watch The Dice Tower and this will likely sell very well regardless, so they send their trash to TDT out of spite or something. I still get a kick out of these reviews though.

I'm starting to think someone's under some sort of pressure to put out X number of games per month, and is just so sick of it all they're deliberately putting out crap to sabotage the company. If so, then I hope their campaign succeeds sooner rather than later so Hasbro takes their medicine and changes how they operate.

@@Idekii pressure to fill quotas is definitely a culprit. And I feel for those who were excited to be picked up by Hasbro to make fun games and toys for kids and get stuck on some soulless committee to come up with this in an afternoon. Hasbro is the soul killer.

I don't quite get why Tom reviews these Hasbro games. Is it for comic relief, or because there are actually people watching this channel that are interested?
