The game of kings, backgammon, and its revival in Los Angeles
In one Orange County pub, a group meets every Monday night to enjoy one of the oldest games in the world: backgammon. Dating back to over 3000 B.C., King Tut’s tomb even contained a version of the game! Join Annenberg Media’s Nico Khazzam as he explores the game’s history and interacts with some of its fans.

At work, the student nurse says to me, “What is backgammon?” I said, “Whoa!!! It’s a mystic marriage between tactics (the technical) planning & scheming, daring & dreaming AND it’s the dance of the two angels of the dice, bound together to provide disappointment or sustenance, flight or crash. She said, “It’s a new game?’ I replied “Sweets, it is older than the Pyramids and as fresh as your freshest inspiration!”
that's what I love about the game, it's ancient history.... I'm planning to attend Candace's LA tournament, so hopefully we'll meet up... Thanks for your video... BG is blossoming AGAIN!!! it reminds of a new season upon us... very interesting... Love of the GAME!!!

Thanks for the plug for the OC meetup! I can tell you're obviously not a chess player at all. If you were, you would NEVER have used a chess board graphic that shows the board set up incorrectly! (There's always a WHITE square in each player's lower right corner.)
