Hey Asia. Love these lights. I have 2 of them. You can actually dim the light by holding the button. So all 3 settings can also be dimmed or brightened.

I had considered this light myself though ultimately decided on the STKR Fli-Overl-Lander. Similar idea, light output, weight etc. main differences are that the STKR is 360 lighting always, has white and red light (no filters needed), has a remote (can control 2 lights at once), the light is not removable, and extends to 10’. I’ve purchased 2 and have used them on about 6 camping trips.

@@DADVNTRS I am though I did forget to mention a couple things that I have run into since my last comment. I would recommend that anyone purchasing these lights have a set of Allen wrenches ready, on a few of my last trips the screws holding the legs together have come loose and fallen off (I think adding a little loc-tite during production would help keep these in place). I have been lucky enough to find them each time and happen to have the tools with me to fasten them back on. Otherwise setting these things up would not be possible. Another thing is because of the design there is a spiraled cord that runs from the base through the collapsing tubes to the light. This means there’s no need for additional set up like assembling a tripod. When extending the light to its full height the cord is fine. However when collapsing it again to put it away for storage can sometimes be a problem. If for whatever reason you’ve twisted the light at anytime the cord will get bunched up inside and will get pinched when all the sections of tubing are collapsed. Somehow without knowing I twisted the cord and had this problem (imagine a slinky all twisted up inside a tube). I reached out to STKR to ask if there was a way to disassemble the lights to straighten out the cord and the only direction I received was to turn the light clockwise as I’m collapsing the light. It works but sometimes it’s a little so so. Also there is an o ring that sit at the base of the light. Just make sure that’s lubricated. It helps when collapsing the lights. I suppose if I knew about a couple of these things ahead of time I could’ve been better prepared. I know it seems like I’m picking them apart but other than these few small details I would still recommend the lights. I’m very please with the over all performance. I really enjoy the light output (especially when you have two, you get a ton of coverage) , the fact that you have a remote, red and white light, 10’ extension, small package, long runtime and multiple settings. I like placing one light on top of my trailer at night in case I hear something outside I just hit the button inside and I have light everywhere.

You can buy spikes for more stability. I do a lot of videography obviously so I'm thinking of bringing sandbags. They can fold away easy and when I get to camp, if it feels windy out, I can fill the sand bags and weigh it down

No remote so every time you need to turn on or off have to bring light down. No built in red / amber LEDS so have to bring light down and back up any time because AGAIN NO REMOTE! How hard would a remote or even better a Bluetooth app have been? 2 years and they are still working on a remote. I mean come on go back to the same ChiComm manufacturer and have them add Bluetooth, a remote and color LEDs and sells 2.0.!

But in all seriousness yeah, it would be great to find a way to control the light without bringing it down. It's high up there. Amber and red built in would be great too without using filters. I'm sure that's all in the works. Good thing is they're a relatively new company and listens to ideas. I'm sure if we keep asking they'll produce.
