0:58 I dunno what you mean by that but openFPGA isn't software emulation either. Everything on the Pocket is FPGA hardware emulation, no matter if you use actual carts or GB Studio files or roms with an openFPGA core.

If the Analogue Pocket was more readily available, I'd probably bite for one. But now with Game Boy being added to Switch Online, it's just easier for me to play games on there instead.

I was quick and got a consolized GBA and I play on an original GBA with the DMG style shell and ips screen. I really actually use my Epilogue GB Operator more than any other Gameboy. It's just so convenient on the PC plus I like the Rumble feature for my version of Legend of the River King 2. I added Rumble with the Gameboy ROM Analyzer. I changed the cartridge type to 1EH and fixed the header. I Flashed it to a Geek Tech cartridge and have really been catching some fish now a lot more. Battling is more fun too. Great game. I got it to Rumble for the Pow Kiddy V90 as well after the Pocket Go Firmware Update. You could probably mess with the same thing on the Analogue Pocket with the Rumble GBA cartridge and running the game off SD. Try it out. It's a blast.

The song at the very beginning of the video brought back memories that I don't know how to feel about. EDIT: It took the last sentence before I was SOLD on this thing.

OpenFPGA is hardware emulation too.

2 years ago i got a Game Boy Advance Sp ags 001 i didnt want too spend 300 $ and wait almost a year too get one i ended up getting a flash cart as well too play all the Game Boy games on one system it was only 170 $ in total with the flash cart

I got one in recently too and I am right there with you on those shoulder buttons. IMO this is the definitely way to play Gameboy and Gameboy Color games but I might prefer GBA games on a modded GBA instead.

I’m also a big F-Zero fan, so it sucks to hear about the buttons conflicting with gameplay. I may just pass on this after all. Great video, dude

Etsy has protectors for the bottom when docking. I bought one after the dock scratched the bottom of my pocket.

Great video! I also think the GB studio is such a cool feature. You can really tell the people that made this are very much into open source and preserving games

The pocket is great! Aside from the trigger issue you mentioned I think this is such a clean device! Love the fact that it isn’t pure emulation but actually reads your cartridges

I was able to fix my dpad! I opened up the console and taped off sections of the contact of the dpad and no more unwanted presses!!

I am happy with my Retroad 5 Plus with the GB/GBC Extension Converter. It's a 7" HDMI out Handheld. I use my 8bitdo SNES dongle and NES/SNES Online controllers with mine. I picked it up over at Ali-Express. It was worth it. Analogue Pocket shmocket!!!!!! I would really like one though. 💔☹

I’m friendly with my local retro game store. One of the employees sold his to the store and gave it to me for $250. Which is way under value, considering it has most of the cores and roms already installed. It’s amazing, I got a steam deck from them like the week before too but the pocket I always have ready to go. If you can find one or willing to wait for the shipping from the manufacturer directly it is so worth it.

I would be interested in a system like this, if it wasn't for the issue with the L and R buttons and that some features won't work half the time. Guess I'm better to use my DS Lite for my GBA collection.

I know real hardware is better and all that, but just see no reason why I'd go for this over my Anbernic RG353V. It emulates everything up to N64, in a more smaller Game Boy form factor with all the features I could want and better LR buttons.

given nintendo's intense persecution of.. basically everyone including themselves these days, how is this being sold? 5:20 it'll do worse than that. guarantee that part is gonna break off. usb-C ports are already fragile as beans, and were a terrible idea.
