I just love this channel, your content is very enjoyable.

Curious to see if Empow can do well in China, after so many years Trumpchi remained stuck as a second tier local brand. BYD and Chery both have amazing growth but not Trumpchi.

This is an attractive car. For this price quite fabulous. Never heard of GAC, had to google to find out it is not part of Geely..

The DCT transmission on this car ruins everything about driving…Extremely sensitive for small pedal request, very uncomfortable , but response extremely slow when you give it full throttle. Definitely one of the worst powertrain tuning among the new ICE cars in 2021.

That's every dct lmfao. Two ways around this. 1. Throttle controller. 2. Put it in sports mode Or, just get used to it. My skoda does the same thing so now I press the throttle sooner to skip the lag.

@@imwsss726 I suspect Trumpchi used the C635 DDCT from FIAT partnership, or the C725 7 speed one.

Great looks, great value and much more interesting than most budget friendly cars. Certainly makes a lot of Euro stuff seem rather uninspiring.

1. The 3-speed auto mentioned was for the Roewe 350. The Trumpchi GA5 had a 5-speed auto. 2. 7-speed dual clutch

Thank you for your support! Apologies for not being more specific about the ride quality and NVH. The ride quality is quite nice, and does a good job of filtering out bumps and potholes. NVH is also pretty good, no excessive wind or tire noise during our time with the car. Put simply, it would make a good daily commuter.

Can you guys do a review on the Buick Weilang/Verano Pro GS? I find Buick China’s marketing pretty curious, especially with things like their GS racing and crossover off-roading programmes. Edit: Plus, it seems like a natural competitor to this Empow; slightly more power and marketed as a tuner car. Even though it uses a CVT

This looks like the love child of a Mercedes and a Toyota Corolla

By the way, based on many Chinese auto authors, it's nearly impossible to get 0-100 time under 7 sec, Most of them get the result of mid 7 to mid 8 seconds.

The empow can do it in 6.95 seconds, it's been tested and proven. Even in our country, philippines

Bad news: The Empow had almost became a stereotypical "ricer's ride" by now, just like the Honda Civic. It's not that uncommon to see these already agressively-designed sedans being heavily modified with mostly cosmetic parts.

Uughhh I so want one. This or the MG GT?

A car like this with manual transmission and a good guarantee under 20k euros would sell loads in Europe

That would be awesome, but I think the problem for with european market is that they have to reach the high standards in mileage, emission and safety.... Those three things would make the car a lot more expensive. And the european market is already full and europeans tend to buy SUVs and crossovers.

Please review the 2 liter engine of this car in R version . Please please please. Or even better a comparison with the MG7 :D

Try to use the shifters to control your speed better and you'll speed through. But if you're not good with a manual, stick with pounding the gas.

Hyundai called, they want their Avante AD back lol one of my friends in China got this and its the joke we make a lot. He says its a alrite car, although we do hate the fake exhaust sound.

When i saw the car in the video i got a feeling i had seen this car before. Went out to the parking lot and saw a 90% match to my old Honda (Insight ZE3). Naughty copycat boys... Current Insight ZE4 (which is more similar looking) can be also considered a "sporty" car by this metric with similar sized engine (with VTEC and CVT), In reality both are timid hybrids. Also, nothing too sporty about the engine and with fake noise... China has good EVs or ultra cheap EVs but they better leave the ICE cars to the pros

This car has become a complete joke on the Chinese internet. It's not necessarily a bad family sedan, but GAC's ridiculous ad campaign makes everything look worse.
