The Future Poetry is a work of literary criticism by Sri Aurobindo. It was published in essay form from 1917-1920 in Arya, a monthly review.
Later, it was published as a book. In this work, Sri Aurobindo describes the history and evolution of poetry. He talks of its rhythm, poetry as an expression of the national spirit, Elizabethan poetry, Mantra (a sacred chant) connected to poetry, and finally concludes saying that, The Future Poetry is spiritual, which will elevate human consciousness.
This book also includes an essay 'On Quantitative Meter' which was published in 1942
