Mercedes charge us more than that for smart app. Personally, small price to pay for piece of mind. BUT, it has to work properly. If this turns out to be rubbish, I'm taking it back to the shop.

if you already have a dashcam, i dont think this is worth it yet, very little difference from the 622, it might be worth it later, but could be months before all the features are active, (if at all)@@MarieJenkins-wu9ns

Good advert video, but not once on the title cards for each section or throughout the video do you mention that nearly all of these features are subscription only items - this after you spend approx. £600 for say the 4k front and the 1440p rear camera. Live View, Smart Sense Parking, Witness Mode, Road Watch AI (Coming soon), Guardian Mode (Coming soon) and Emergency SOS are all subscription options

The video will be automatically uploaded into the cloud. The footage will be always secured and available - even if the iQ is stolen.

I am a viewer from Europe, I would like to know when it will be available here?

Hi there, we don't yet have a date for this yet, but an iQ purchased in the UK can be used across Europe!

I am interested in the radar motion detection mode. In other reply you mentioned that it can go to a low power "sleep" mode while using radar to detect motion and last possibly for weeks in this mode. How much power (in watts/milliwatts) does the camera consume while in this sleep mode? And how long does it take the camera to wake up and start recording when motion is detected? Any dash camera could be used with external radar sensor module triggering the power while detecting motion but dash cameras usually need around 5 or more seconds to boot and start recording which is too much in my opinion. I read somewhere that Thinkware U3000 (that also has integrated radar sensor) takes 2 seconds to wake up from "radar sleep" mode. I think that dash camera should ideally start recording in 1 second or less from the time the movement is detected to be able to reliably capture a passing car or person hitting/scratching your car.

Will this actually connect with the phone app? I've had previous problems connecting with Android on the 622 and the Duo camera with different Android phones, and including Android 13.

@nextbase the rear cam isn’t working. Any idea why?

Can it read the number plates?

Mine doesn’t work. Turned on and all I get is orange circular arrows. Called customer service and they can’t figure it out. Now they don’t even respond to me emails

how to have to 2 way conversation?? in new update the guardian mode is active but can’t have the 2 way conversation please help

Undoubtedly looks very good , Iv just purchased the IQ 4k front and a IQ rear - thankfully paid a lot less than rrp due to work discount . The optional lte connection options seems to be £6.99 a month in the U.K. which I think is reasonable but long term it certainly adds up so let’s hope there’s some discount on offer at some point .

@@NextbaseUK I completely understand the need and I have signed up to the full premium plan . After two days of use I would say the app is good but activating live view doesn’t always work and even video playback seems to take a while - is this an issue on my mobile device ( iPhone XR ) or app settings - I would also like to ask if it’s normal for the memory card to completely fill up very quickly? I’m having to format it back to zero almost every hour - any help would be gratefully received .

Lucky you, especially as the IQ rear is currently unavailable on the store. Not withstanding Nextbase have taken the decision to remove the "bluelight (Emergency service and military)" card discount on the IQ as a whole. As someone who has owned every version nextbase camera, regrettably I will not be getting the IQ. Highly disappointed with thier clearly financial decision 😢

Just installed the 2K cam in my car but I can not see any live footage, not even from library keep asking me to get the monthly subscription. I called the help line but no luck. I will be sending the dash cam back as I don't want to pay anymore money just to access the dash cam. I just pay £399 for what???

Why not in my own home cloud server ?

of 2024 february, dash cam is still not working properly. Rear dash cam not working & app features that were promised to function, is not working; but they are still charging £10 a month

My next dashcam will be a Nextbase, but let’s not be fooled into thinking that this or any dashcam deters thieves. The scumbags nick vehicles in broad daylight and often with spectators watching. They don’t care, and the police don’t have the resources to respond.

You're bang on. Scaremongering is not a good way to sell and market a product. It won't deter professional car theft or mindless vandalism. Misleading video and advertising.

Hi there, we have a lot of customer insight that shows us that a dash cam can deter thieves. In the unfortunate event that a professional does steal a vehicle, the Nextbase iQ will record this event and store it in the cloud which can be really useful for a police or insurance claim. We aren't scaremongering, but simply sharing our insight into the industry 🙂

Great question! Sadly, if there isn't any signal, the iQ will still carry on it's functions as normal and record events. It won't be able to send a notification until it has signal 🙂

⁠​⁠@@NextbaseUK it is a great question but sadly Nextbase haven’t given a very honest answer! Even with a full signal your IQ still won’t send “motion” alerts because the feature hasn’t been activated yet. Why not just be honest with customers instead of telling them false things.

It’s instock right now at halfords, having problems with mine though. Rear cam won’t connect once I’m away from the car.

It doesn’t distinctly say that it records front and rear at the same time until I get a definitive answer I would not purchase

Your battery does not last more than 10 minutes, and battery life is only 1 year.

The Nextbase iQ does not contain an internal battery, as it takes direct power via the supplied Hardwire Kit, or OBD Connector in the box. Thanks to the radar for the iQ being a very low power draw, it is able to “sleep” and and “wake-up” when it detects a threat on Smart Sense Parking. This means that parking mode can last for a matter of weeks, depending on the health of your car battery and how often events are triggered. The iQ does feature a supercapacitor, but that is only required for an emergency shut down. This is something that has never been done with a dash cam before! Paired with the alerts and real-time notifications, this is what makes the iQ different! If you're referring to our Series 2 dash cams, these work quite differently to the new iQ. Major issues with this product. Everyone that has purchased the Nextbase IQ dash cam and the IQ rear window camera deserves the $200 a year subscription free for the first year. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK! How can a company release a product to market, letting people buy it, and it doesn’t even work
