The Furthest Distance on a £1.50 Bus Hopper
Hugo's here! Which means its BUS FUN times, and using the Bus Hopper fare (unlimited bus and tram travel in 70 minutes) he'd devised a route which should let us take a bus, tram, bus and travel for 26 miles across London, for just £1.50! Is it possible? Would we make it? We started in Orpington ...
Thanks to Hugo @theorangeone for his busisstance!

The 353 has an interesting history, as it wasn't originally a London Transport service! It was started by a minibus firm called North Down Travel back in the seventies, the firm's owner realising that there wasn't a link from Orpington-Croydon, so applied to LT for permission to start one. The firm ultimately became Tilingbourne before passing to Metrobus who would ultimately sell out to Go Ahead. It wasn't until recent years that the 353 became a fully fledged TfL service!
The voice of the platform train announcer should be replaced with alternating Hugo/Geoff, like at 1:08 - Geoff: Platform 4 for the.. Hugo: Thameslink Geoff: ..service to.. Hugo: Gatwick Airport.

The bus you had on the 353 was a Scania Omnicity. These were withdrawn from service by Go-Ahead, but because of the Orpington garage fire, which the 353 is run out of, they brought these old buses back. These are now withdrawn as of September, and are probably in use elsewhere in the country.

More bus rides please Geoff. My favourite seat on the top deck is front nearside, the enthusiasts' choice.
I've often used that 108 bus stop, it serves Tower Hamlets Town Hall and takes commuters under the river. I'd say Warwick Terrace Stop C on the 53 is pretty well redundant, it's half way across the common and there's a stop just before Warwick Terrace and one just after the bus turns into Plumstead Common Road. My favourite seat is the one just behind the CCTV monitor.

I'm visiting London and did the x26 route to go in the longest bus route then on the 465 Kingston to Dorking for the furthest (I hope) bus stop from London. and I thought I might have done the longest row in the hopper date when I got the 367 from Perth road to West Croydon then x26 to Heathrow. oops. but at least good to know I was close without intending to!
