Sorry to hear that. My grandmother had it, and passed years back. Terrible disease, but you gotta find humor SOMEWHERE, it'll get you through it. A few years ago, a co-worker of mine made an Alzheimer's joke. I looked at her with a dead straight face and said my Grandmother had Alzheimer's, and I didn't find that funny. . My coworker was so upset, she just looked at me in shock and then kept saying she was so, so sorry. I played along for a minute, and then finally I smiled and said nah, I'm just fucking with you. My grandmother really DID have Alzheimer's, but that shit was hilarious!

Eddie was portrayed by the late great Whitman Mayo. He was best known as Fred Sanford's homeboy Grady. He was an accomplished actor and also a school teacher earlier in his career.

Eddie's Alzheimer's is so bad that he forgot his real name was Grady. He also forgot about his friend Fred who ran a junkyard in El Segundo with his son Lamont.

Lol for real, I use to volunteer at a retirement home on the alzheimer unit and you even needed a key code to open the elevator. Like it's pretty much impossible to just wonder out.

As someone who’s lost someone to Alzheimer’s, I just wanted to say thank you for doing a really good job finding the balance of being comedic while also being sensitive to the subject. I see too many memes straight up laughing at or mocking people for having Alzheimer’s (or being at risk), and it’s just upsetting and angering. But this was actually very funny and creative, not at the expense of the people suffering, so thank you. ❤️

Florida is like the dirty f..ckboy that lives down the street you keep hearing terrible stories about. Anything could have happened to Gloria...Anything.

I was also 19 when my grandfather passed from Alzheimer’s, it was really sad but I eventually learned to accept that he didn’t know who I was toward the end, and wherever our grandfathers are now, I hope they’ve gotten their memories back

I remember crying at this episode. This is an episode that I’ll never forget. No pun intended

So far this is the only Very Special Episode I’ve actually seen. And go figure, I forgot everything about it aside from M-Preg Jessie confusing the poor old guy.

My uncle has Alzheimer’s, and usually it makes me sad to talk about. This however, made me laugh out loud.

My nana had Alzheimer's. Sometimes she knew me. Sometimes she only knew that she loved me. Alzheimer's is awful. If you can give anyone with Alzheimer's a good day, do it. Don't count on their memory failures as an excuse to be mean to them. Emotions don't always go away just because you forget something.

These always make me laugh so hard 😂.
