That’s the basics of the armor… but there is even a deeper understanding that most people don’t understand: Putting the armor on in the specific order as explained: Truth as a food… which is digested… Then the nutrients of the food is absorbed into your bloodstream: (When Gods word and wine) becomes the greater aspect of your life: The nutrients of the word now flow through your spiritual “HEART”, and it becomes the core of your thoughts: But then the spiritual blood flows throughout your entire beliefs as well as a shield that protects you from any dark spirits that would seek to destroy you.

Other than the visuals, this is the same old idea that we have heard for decades. I suggest looking at this list of armor from the perspective of a fighting unit going into battle--a group, which was known in Paul's day as a "Testudo." Put these items to work in a Testudo and you get a powerful image of how the armor of God should work. On another point, the Greek does not end at v17. It flows immediately into v18 where we are to pray at all times in the Spirit for all the saints and also for Paul, i.e. our spiritual leaders. I enjoy much of what Dave Stotts does. But this one is only so-so. Sorry,

I have always seen the breastplate of righteousness as the breastplate of the high priest. Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers and companions in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession; Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.1 Peter 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves with the same resolve, because anyone who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

It appears that the producers spent a lot of money to make a beautiful video with lots of shiny props yet failed to mention the most important aspect of this passage of scripture. Paul is quoting Isaiah's prophecies about the Messiah. Isa 59:17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. Isa 11:5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. Paul is telling us to put on Christ because that is what the world should see in us as his disciples.

JESUS is the full armour Ephesians 6:13-19 King James Version 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,(Jusus is truth) and having on the breastplate of righteousness;(Jesus is righteous ) 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;(Jesus) 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith,(Jesus is paid for all sin with His faith) wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation,(Jesus is our salvation ) and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:Jesus is Gods word) 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

NOT A ROMAN SOLDIER Please read: Isaiah 59:16-17 16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. 17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak. Are we really to believe that God dresses like a Roman Soldier when He goes out to execute justice? Paul is referencing several passages in the Old Testament regarding the armor and since Isaiah was written long before the Roman Empire, this is clearly not a reference to a Roman soldier.
