    That's not the case you see, french failed to mobilize enough troops and get them to the german borders on time meanwhile prussia even though late knew how to deploy their troops quick and so the greatest invention of that time, trains yeps they transported there 90% troops through them and completely outmatched in both numbers and skills and weapons

    Yeah that was the main innovation of the war pushed by Moltke - he saw early on the advantages of infrastructure in warfare: “Every new railway development is a military benefit, and for national defense it is far more profitable to spend a few million on completing our railways than on new fortresses.”

    Yes, thanks to Field Marshal Helmuth von Moltke the Elder. One of the greatest warfare masterminds of all time. He was the Chief of General Staff of both Prussia and then united Germany for a total of 40 years. He embodied Prussian military organization and tactical genius. Also the the earliest born human ever whose voice was audio-recorded.

    This short alone took about thousands of images due to the fact that this man showed us a tutorial on how to make these animations on paint or a editing software, he used a map and did frame by frame. No Animation software, Just actual skill and editing software experience

    @@qhayiya252 That's impossible, the Amount of research would need to be insane. Wikipedia doesn't even have articles for most of the Corps/Armies/Divisions/Brigades. Its most likely random, but tied at random events (like creation and deployment of armies.) in the main video's comments he says 1 Flag = 10,000 So this further proves it could be just made up and tied to random events.

    No I don't think there's even enough wartime data to animate it frame by frame, we don't have records on exactly where each unit was at every moment of time, they must have just animated some frames and interpolated between them.

    Actually, the "deutsch französischer Krieg" was the last war in the series of unification wars. Besides "deutsch dänischer Krieg" and "deutsch deutscher Krieg" after 1871 it was only the German Empire and before the German-French War it was the North German Confederation with Bavarian Baden and Württemberg

    I literally just commented this, I think we should stop calling it Franco Prussian War and call it Franco German War as it was the whole of German states minus Austria vs France, it was a smashing coalition and there was no way France could have resisted.

    ”Would later become” No. It already was. Before germany was united the prussians were already famous for their mobile warfare. When germany was united they kept this doctrine. Blitzkrieg was based on prussian doctrine.

    @@politonno2499 I know. Well technically it existed since the spanish civil war but thats only a few years before. What i said was that prussian doctrine was always focused on mobile warfare. It just didnt get the name blitzkrieg before ww2. This wasnt the early concept of mobile warfare like you said, it was a very modern version of it which was perfected for at least a hundred years before this. Also the blitzkrieg was specifically the method for breakthrough. the encirclements were part of a larger mobile warfare doctrine. Blitzkrieg was simply a way to achieve the encirclements by breaking the enemy lines.

    its interesting to see that they used roads and rail lines to quickly encircle french units and link up their while the french are caught in the fields and between cities. genuinely cool to see one of the first truly fluid mobile wars not determined by set piece battles.

    Salute to the front line of France that got surrounded n yet still fought to the end of the vid(cuz I don't know what happened next).. Germans were really good with their strategy of breaking the Frontline of France, separated them out and surrounded to easily fight them off (tho France did put up a good fight)... Truly fascinating and yet tragic event... Salute to those soldiers that fought for their countries, not only to both countries but globally...

    Despite france declaring war first and starting mobilization first, germany was able to mobilize more troops and faster. The reason is railroads and proper modern understanding of supply lines and importance of logistics by german generals. Speed won them the war

    They had a lot more earlier, also Napoleon lost bec the enemy used his light infantry tactics when he started to use heavily supplied armies for Russia witch is very easy to pin and attack them specially if they are on your own Terrain (snow)
