I appreciate all your help, as well as, all you've had to endure to get to this point. It definitely is tough to shine with the amount of competivness that lies around. At least, here where I live. Where people don't value art like an artist and are not willing to pay "outrageous" prices for fine art.(My wife and I have thought of relocating to help this and other situations). It's a major let down to have put so much work in, while in my hometown, only to get shafted by several would be customers who only want things their way. That being said, I've long realized that I don't enjoy tattooing for the money and I've always believed that that was my problem. You definitely shed light upon the importance of staying true to myself and letting go of all the negativity that can cloud a creative mind. Thanks for being genuine. Keep up the great hustle!✌🏼️

I'm doing a lot better man thanks!
Very well said! Thank You for this video! ❤️
I’m completely brand new to this trade and I’m still taking my first steps into this field but thank you for your video, I haven’t really even come into contact with other artists yet but I still see myself comparing my brand new skills to artist that have been practicing for 20+ years. You a smart guy and I can tell you truly got kindness in your heart.
Big props Johnny, you’ve given me a lot of good ideas and information for myself through these videos. Keep it up!
Love you man. It is so great what you do. I don't have to tell you scew the haters because you know it. All I can say is that never stop what you do because ypu really help ppl to progress and keep going. Big thanks!!!
Thank you so much Johnny, you're channeling gave me a really good sense of direction in the tattoo world. Kinda like laying out a map and showing what is where so I can decide where to travel in this journey.
Awesome advice, my man. If only more people in the industry thought like you, I feel the world would be a better place. I've been tattooing for 10 years now and I still feel like I have a ways to go and I'm always trying to perfect my craft. I'm going to own my own shop one day. Some of the stuff you said, I already do, but some of it you gave me new perspective. Thanks for the video!
You are just the best... Keep it up, RESPECT ❤
On point, thank you for keeping it real!!!!!! 🙏🙇 my Tattoo Soul is relieved and it's inspires me to focus on the craft!
Hey man I started my apprentiship recently and your page on here was highly recommended to me by the person I'm learning from. I just wanted to say how you approach marketing down to the way you put customers and the creating value first I agree dude. Thanks for giving some actual non bs advice to aspiring artists trying to break into the industry the right way. I'll be checking out the rest of your uploads thanks man.
Wise words. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
💯 words of wisdom. Much respect, keep it up
I'm glad I found this today, thank you for this content.
Thank you so much. I started 4 Month ago and I compaired myself so many times to all this other newcomers, but, well, I have 4 kids, one baby, and every little time I have, I practice. I try as much as I can. I dream of tattooing, think about it, nearly every minute. Never felt like this about something I do, so yes, I have to learn. Learn to concentrate on me, on my work and how I can improve.
Good to see you back Johnny!
Thanks for this good advice! I will remember these for sure!
Inspired me so much that made me shed a tear, keep doing you
Absolutely first class information Johnny keep it up and don't forget all your unknown apprentices cheers

You just gotta try to make the tattoo look great, when the customer is happy you did an awesome job you'll feel a lot better about having to do a piece that's kind of common or not very original.

FANTASTIC ADVICE
You are the best men. One of the respected tattoo artist a know. Thanks for that tips
Beautiful video and beautiful sharing of peace of mind ,, word up man
The comment about making your clients feel valued is so true. I once went to one of the best tattoo artists I have been to but he was such a jerk to me and really disrespectful. If I had been made to feel welcome and not been spoken to like rubbish, I would have come back - FOR SURE. He's so talented but my experience was over shadowed by his attitude I am sorry to say.

customers will pay more for a less skilled artist with great customer service because the experience of the tattoo is PART of what you are paying for. No one likes having to pay money just to be verbally abused or treated like trash!
Right now I only practice on myself and fruits, but def a dream to do an apprenticeship. hope to move to a part time job that i can do an apprenticeship at the same time with. i love handpoke and i practice with machines on myself but i hope to become an apprentice and learn machines better soon. i need practice practice practice. your videos are amazing and really make me feel like it could be in my grasp! thank you for being so informative and a real one!! thank you so much for being professional and encouraging everyone to be the same.
Well, welcome back!
Thanks for the constant inspiration and education dude 🙏
I am 5 months into my apprenticeship , and this really helped. Thanks bro god bless

Why do you think I keep my camera up in mine? The second any female or Male offers anything sexual I throw them out or block them. I wont put myself or my team at risk for any reason.

Thank you Johnny Gault!! 🙏🏼
True words. Well said mate.
Thanks man!
I've owned a shop for 10 years and I got rule #1 down. I used to be bad with that. Rule #2 is my rule number 1. My customers put food on my table and I treat em as such. Professionalism. #3 is my weakest area. I work alone and dont have alot of time. But i know theres always more you can do. Great video!
Good Vid Man.. Ill Check out your Machines... I Need a Traditional Coil Color Packer Tatzooka! Great Rules btw ... I've been in the industry for 12 years and all those Rules sound pretty good.

I just finished a sick ass set. A neotrad power liner and a really nice color packer if you're interested, I'll comment to you when I post them.
Thank you for talking bout stuff like that!!! I feel like a lot of tattooer dont want to talk aboute stuff like that because it seems a little like everyone could do it then. I think maybe like you said its a lack of trusting in themselves and just doing your 'thing'!!!
100% true. Ppl have bad mouthed me and my work and my business(not tattooing) and I’ve gotten estimates and customers out of others mentioning me lmao. Great vid glad your putting out vids again it’s been a while thanks for the help
Not gonna lie. This got pretty deep at the end lol. Well said. Good honest game from a passionate artist.
Such a good word bro
Needed to hear the last piece of advice on not caring what other artists think. Thank you.

You’re right on #2. So many artists I’ve met are so stuck up thinking they are the shit or they seem so uninterested in wanting to tattoo me like chill tf out there’s plenty of talented people out there. humble yourself. That’s why I want to be a tattoo artist to change that stigma around tattoo artists

Johnny Gault absolutely no doubt, I’m real focused on working on improving my art, I ordered some synthetic skin to practice on and I’m learning the basics of tattooing through KZread to build my portfolio first so I can try to find places to be an apprentice. But thanks for the advice! 👏🏽👏🏽
Solid advice.

Inspiring af!
2:30 in... cheers Johnny spoke to me that part 🤟💯
Johnny I have been following your channel for a while now I have started doing small work for friends how do I go about at getting an apprenticeship so I can eventually become a licensed artist.
Thank you
Sir Gault, how do you feel about rotary pens?? Have u used them instead of the typical coil machines?
Been watching for awhile and really like some of your vids.... selling to anyone and everyone is kinda iffy but atleast if someone is willing to put in the time to search they can get decent tools so there is something to be said for that. We just opened a shop and started doing some timelapses and things. would be cool if you checked it out and gave some comments and feedback....this was one of your better vids. keep it up dude.

time lapses are decent and all but would like to see some more techniques and real time stuff. also where can i see some of your work johnny
When will you have more machines available?
Goodsir, help Why does its hard to put ink on skin using 9RL, but 3 5 7 are okay.. is it the depth? Voltage? Setting up the needle?
Hey bro wen will u have more liner and shader sets available
Fuck I love this!!!! It fits well in so many other aspects of life .... Just badass man totally!!! 🤘🙂
What would be a decent not overly priced tattoo gun or kit to get started with?
When it comes down to American traditional or neo traditional, what size needle is the best so that the tattoo looks good in 20 years?
Hell yeah man. Well said! I have been saying the same thing when Microsoft always bashes on Apple in their advertisements lol
