The Four Last Things (Judgment) - Living Divine Mercy TV Show (EWTN) Ep.85 with Fr. Chris Alar

When we die, we will all go through not only one, but two judgments. Surprising! In the second episode of this 4-part series on the 4 Last Things, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, explains the particular and the general judgments that we will undergo and then he is joined by author Daniel O’Connor to discuss the judgements in more detail.
Watch Fr. Chris Alar and the Marian Fathers and Brothers from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy on our new show Living Divine Mercy airing every Wednesday at 6:30pm EST on EWTN. Through teaching segments, Bible and St. Faustina Diary excerpts, as well as real-life examples of people who are living Divine Mercy in their lives, you will learn why Jesus said Divine Mercy is mankind's last hope of salvation! How interesting is today’s topic on the Four Last Things: Judgement. Fr. Chris, thank you for your continuous concern about the healing and salvation of our souls. You truly offer everything you can do while there’s still time for us to be saved.Indeed, to stay in the state of grace at all times brightens the road of hope for eternity. We all want to be saved and it’s all up to us to avail of the good ways and means you gladly presented to us and in turn, we must always reciprocate them with prayers and gratitude. My deepest thanks to Daniel O’ Connor for his humble, simple and brilliant explanation on the particular and general judgment. His exhortation to remain in the state of grace helps us to be conscientious in the way we live in words and actions. May God both bless you always as well-doers to humanity.

Thank you, Fr Chris, for this episode on “The Four Last Things - Judgement”. Quite a topic for our times as no one in our secular society wants to be judged on anything using the framework of the Truth. My take away? We must strive to always stay in a state of grace, for we never know when our last day on earth will be and when our personal judgement will come. The cornerstone of any priests’ job is to help get his parishioners to heaven. And I can’t think of a better priest to help us do that then you. Godspeed, Father Chris, as you travel to Raleigh this weekend. Don’t forget to wave “hello” when you fly over the Commonwealth Virginia. May you be a blessing to all of those at that conference as you are to all of us.

That was a fascinating episode. However, Iit provoked a little bit of anxiety because how do we know when we are 100% in the state of Grace? My DM friends and I often talk about how sometimes we feel like we are just checking the boxes in our hectic daily lives. Did I say my rosary today ✅ Did I say all my prayers today ✅ did I attend mass ✅ thanks to all of your lessons, Father Chris and the wonderful guests you showcase on LDM, I pray I can get myself into that UNITIVE stage, but I’m not there yet and I’ve got a Way to go. I think back to your homily last Sunday and apply the same facts about receiving the Blessed Sacrament to everything else in my life. I can talk about it, I can read it, but unless I am ACTIVELY LIVING a holy life I’m never going to get there God bless you Father Chris and thank you for all that you tirelessly do to show us the way.

Error (potentially), 17:27, Fr. Chris Alar - “So then the souls that are alive on earth will never experience death.” If I understand St. Thomas Aquinas correctly, EVERYONE dies, because after the reign of AntiChrist ends but before Christ returns in glory, as St. Peter talks about how the elements of the world will burn with fire, God will send fire to burn all creation, even those who are still alive before Christ’s final coming. And according to St. Thomas Aquinas, the pain of the fire felt by those still living will be to the degree of their purity or sin: severe pain for the wicked, some pain for the righteous who still have some sin, and absolutely no pain for those who’ve already been perfected in grace. Cool stuff!

@@DivineMercy_Official Can you explain further? Not sure what you mean by “Yes, but not death in the same way.” Death=separation of soul from the body. The comments Fr. Chris offered made it sound like he believed there will be some people on earth when Christ returns who will never die. But Aquinas says those still alive before Christ returns will die by being burned with the fire God sends. Which means, all will die. Which means it’s not true there will be some people who will never experience death, because all will experience death.
