The Founding Titan Explained: Analyzing the Role of Complacency and Sacrifice | Attack on Titan

Фильм және анимация

The Founding Titan has been a staple in the story of Attack on Titan and that goes for what it represents as well, complacency and sacrifice. Complacency and Sacrifice plays the most pivotal role in not only the inheritors of this titan but the story overall, seeing as it's the most important titan of the nine within the story and the one's who would come to wield its power would change and shape the world as they saw fit. I will touch on the most important figures such as Ymir Fritz, Karl Fritz, The Reiss Family (Uri and Frieda), Grisha Yeager, and lastly Eren Yeager; they all display these qualities within the story and connect even if its indirectly and in their own ways as well. Some withheld to their complacency due to the vow renouncing war and others due to their own stubbornness and inability to see a path forward. Something akin to seeing something beyond the hell, they themselves may be living in.

“Eren Jaeger has suffered a huge amount within the story of Attack on Titan. He would go to extreme lengths to achieve his goals because of the things he's experienced. He has witnessed his mother being eaten, eating his own father, and left with the burden of the founding titan and freeing Eldia in order to protect those closest to him, like Armin and Mikasa”

This is my most well edited and researched video in my opinion 😭 I spent so long going over details with the script; researching and going over characters, interactions, plot lines and what they meant. I’m proud of how it turned out and I’d appreciate it if you like, commented and shared it! It was fun doing this big one and I hope you all enjoy it!

As well as (freckles) Ymir, in her Jaw Titan, as she sort-of smth similar to Historia (the *actual* reincarnation of Ymir, & small lady to boot, a very telling physical characterization), which, to me, symbolizes in a single act having giving her (at least the _seed_ of) *FREEDOM* (which’d blossom later, against her father in the crystal cavern) And I’m sure that there’s probably some more depth to that kind of connections…

Eren and Reiner, ironically, stopped being the same the moment Eren said this line. Because at this point Reiner transcended old Reiner that was the same. By openly accepting the bankruptcy of his dream, the worthlessness of his attempt to reach it, he moved past the selfish dream he had, the dream that made him and Eren the same. Reiner was reborn that day, and Eren continued his destructive chasing of his perverse dream.

I wonder if Ymir chose her form after meeting the creature. Maybe she wanted to become a big scary monster with all the power in the world and so the creature granted it to her. But since she was a slave all her life, she didn't know how to use the power or even DARE to. This all mighty being was still just a small abused girl.

got a question...why did the owl rushed and covered Grisha's mouth when he was starting to speak about Dina being or the royal blood line? Most would say that it's because if Marley were to find out about that, they would of forced her to bear children. Ok Why would marly force Dina to bear children?

  • @EdoEeerieEncounters

It is an odd detail considering that only a select few ppl knew you needed royal blood to control the founder. It was no secret that royal blood was important but just how important Markey knew it was was unspecified (aside from the tyburs) but I will say just on the slim chance that they could force her to have children and have those same children be manipulated to serve Marley with 100% loyalty would be problematic, especially after they inherit titans. It was probably just an “just in case” split decision he made at the moment

Maybe she never loved him. Maybe the way she did everything she said and was so submissive is because she wanted his approval and recognitation. He enslaved her, she wanted to be free. She wanted him to see her as a valuable and worthy person. But he never saw her as that and the moment she died is when she realized she will never be seen as human by him. That's when she gave up.

This just shows that Grisha was just as psycho as Eren. He started it all bc of Fae. Eren started it all bc of his mum. And both are at fault that both died in the first place. Like father, like son.....
