I like the idea that this is a result of Timmy closing himself off to the world. He stopped hanging around Sanjay and Elmer, then eventually dropped Aj and Chester, he no longer interacted with Tootie or pined over Trixie anymore. Everyone else who wasn't his Fairy God Parents or Vicky stopped mattering in his life. His parents were never around so that wasn't hard and he'd have dumped Vicky but she's the reason he gets to keep Cosmo and Wanda. So it's more like Timmy is isolating himself from the world because why go hang out with friends when he has fairies that let him do whatever he wants. Why bring his friends into things as whenever he does that, when the wish goes wrong he can't simply wish it away because they are there and that increases the risk of his fairies being discovered. At least to me that's what's happening since it feels more organic for Timmy to do this rather than they just stop hanging out for no reason.

Um... you know boy bands are still a thing today right? And there are way more recent cartoons still making fun of that stereotype. Gravity Falls had an episode where the boy band Mable was obsessed with in that series were all literal clones as a reference to the criticism in real life that modern boy bands still look and sound exactly the same as boy bands from 30 years ago. And there's a reason for why boy bands haven't really changed at all. You'll notice that no member of any boy band actually ever plays an instrument. All they do is sing to per-recorded music. They're literally just attractive faces meant to be appealing to teenage girls and it works. Record labels literally keep reusing the same formula over and over again, the same songs, maybe update a little bit to appeal to the current generation so the lyrics might change slightly but if you really compare them, Backstreet Boys, Boys to Men, N-Sync, The Jonas Brothers, Hanson, ect. they're all playing the exact same music, there's literally nothing that sets band apart from the others. Hell there are even boy bands in other countries Americans have never even heard of that still look and sound exactly the same despite singing in a totally different language. There's an episode of Fuller House where they go to Japan and Ramona ends up dating a Japanese pop star. Approximately every 5 to 10 years there's a new boy band that pops up to replace the previous boy band and literally no one can tell them apart but they still some how manage to make millions cause the teenage girls they're marketed to don't know that boy bands are a simple copy past with no real talent. I mean some of them do actually go on to have real careers after the band breaks up but the vast majority of them don't have any real talent.

Season 6 was pretty good. Not great but good. It has the same classic style as the the first five seasons. The old characters were kept and the original writers was still involved like Scott Fellows (Creator of Johnny Test). Consider everything after Wishology to be non-canon.

There isn’t anything majorly wrong with Season 6. And Poof works thematically. I think you’re just like many other people who endlessly over analyzes Poof’s presence for no real reason. Seasons 1-4 are an 8/10 and Seasons 5 & 6 are a 7/10. Seasons 7 and 8 are a 5/10.

Dude don't forget how in season 7, Butch replaced Vicky with Crocker which made absolutely no sense considering the fact that she appears in the theme song not him.

Actually, I heard the reason Trixie Tang became used less was due to her voice actress, Dionne Quain, slowly retiring. Due to being blind, she had to have scripts written in Braille, and that might have been what lead her career to take an early leave in the mid 2010s. It's also why Kimi is the only Rugrat to be recast in the reboot. Don't know about the other characters however.

All of those characters added so much to the early seasons' charm when I was growing up. No wonder I started to lose interest as it went on.

If it weren't for the show going to sh*t, that could be a compelling theme of Timmy slowly losing himself in a fantasy and isolating himself from reality. The later seasons could be explained in that sense as Timmy becoming more and more depressed despite his godparents and opting to shut himself away from the real world for his delusions. It could also be the reason for Timmy's and his godparent's character degradation. He's slowly losing his mind due to isolation and any complex feelings are being drained away from him.

Francis also worked well as a reason for why timmy got god parents in the first place. Its not like it matters after timmy got them, but its bashed into your head that the reason why is because when hes at home hus parents are absant and he gets neglected by Vicky, when hes at school doing schoolwork hes being constantly bombarded with failures by his psycho teacher, and any other time he catches a break Francis is there to knock him down a peg. Im not saying his character was good or flexible, but his character was more meaningful than Sparky and Chloe combined given any episode he appeared in.

In the case of Chip, the reason why he dissapered was because his voice actor left for his music career (Tho, I could be wrong)

Well I mean let's be honest she never really knew he existed or best yet given knew his name so granted it's justified.

Out of all the problems Fairly Odd Parents had, that was one of the biggest.

I always heard a lot of the reason for side characters disappearing was a mixture of the VAs abandoning the show and the constant drops in budget that forced the crew to only use the main core cast (Timmy, his parents, and Crocker) Don't really have a source, but its a rumor that makes sense from a distance

In the newer seasons the only reoccurring characters you ever got, ad nauseam, are Timmy’s Dad, Crocker, Vicky, Foop for some reason, and Jorgen. Crocker’s the only one I find watchable in the newer stuff.

Trixie was bratty but I still loved her character for some reason, made me quite sad when she all the sudden stopped appearing

I am completely convinced that the only concurrent views of the later seasons were people that died while Nick was on and nobody came to check on them until rent was due.

Yeah its really sad the characters that are timmys best friend just vanish with no call back whatsoever

Poof was okay but I wonder if it was just me liking poof more than that dog.

At least Poof's appearance makes sense. Cosmo and Wanda have been married a long time so it's not too much of a stretch to have a kid. A magic dog on the other hand...

AJ and Chester were one of my favorite characters. I hate that Nick decided to replace them, and have them be forgotten by lame "new" characters.

That was a lame excuse for why they were written out of the show. And it made it look Tinmy stopped hanging out without Chester and AJ despite them being his "best friends."

You know, I may not like themysteriousMrenter. But he made a review on the fairly odd parents episode where Timmy becomes emo about not to long ago. And he brought up the Simpsons where Milhouse and even all of Bart friends were able to stay for 34 years. While Aj and Chester just got abandoned after season 6

I dead-ass forgot about them boss man I only Vicky, Timmy his parents and all that stuff fr.

I get Trixie cause the VA left, and Chip cause maybe it was hard to get his VA again, but no excuse for the other 3 lol

I still remember the old characters. Sad that they were removed from the show.

I remember some of the characters like AJ and Chester but I forgot about a lot of The Fairly OddParents characters

They really did Thanos snap my boys out of existence 😞

Trixie disappeared because her VA left the industry. It was out of respect.

Trixie's last appearance actually happened several years before the VA retired.

It was so surreal watching the version of The Fairly Odd Movie with Chester and AJ

And that’s the thing, even though we like these characters, they’ll just get shoehorned into the background due to the writers not figuring out what to write about them, especially when you add new characters and you have to develop them. It’s just a common thing bro, that’s why Sonic characters aside from the main and supporting cast, disappeared after a few games.

It’s real sad when a show cuts out important parts of itself forgetting how they’re important to the overall world ultimately diminishing the whole show all together

Timmy beat them to death.

They should bring back Trixie and have her voiced by Trixie Mattel.

Yeah, that sucked! The only character I understand them phasing out was Chip Skylark because how the archetype was dying out.

I hate how when the show changed to flash animation, less and less characters returned per episode since it would mean having to get them for just random cameos and it obviously wasn't worth it. to a point most episodes where Timmy, Chloe, The fairies, and either Timmy's dad, Crocker or a random character that managed to survive, checking random re-uploads on YT and the wiki you can see how not even Dinkelberg managed to have a speaking role after the first half of season 10, I think Vicky only appeared twice

Trixie was actually replaced by another character no Chloe. And it’s actually not because they wanted to get rid of her, its just her voice actor retired and they didn’t want to replace her. So instead they created a new Character to fill her niche. Probably should’ve tried to explain that though.

That could actually be really interesting; chester’s worthy of fairies, trixie could have a miserable family life feel constant insecurity from being popular, and aj could feel constant pressure from trying to always get As.

For the longest time i thought i could relate to timmy being an average kid however it turned out i was more like chester, poor and trailer trash.

These characters knew the show was gonna downhill, so they rightfully depature. I like to think of Fairly Oddparents as more of an animated sitcom.

Butch Hartman should bring back Chester and AJ, and Trixie and Francis, and Chip Skylark to Fairly Odd Parents!

This show felt more like a sitcom with the new characters. Crockers nephew, chloe and her parents, and sparky the magic dog. I miss the old cast more so then the new ones. Sure they were one dimensional, but they were memorable and would help the series ground itself. Btw, I didn't know that Chester had his final line there in season 9, I thought it was in season 8's "Timmys secret wish", and Aj's was in season 9's "App Trap"

The rest of the show was just Timmy dealing with the show villains almost every episode

Ok so mark’s next ranking video is the fairly odd parents, personally I stop marathoning it after season 5, so uh have fun

My head canon was that everyone got so fed up with Timmy’s narcissism in the later seasons they just left 💀

It's the classic syndrome cartoons that've run for too long enter. The writers have no more ideas for their current cast, so they just continually add new characters to make up for it. SpongeBob is a great example of this.

I stopped watching when they started introducing new characters, I had no idea all the others were just gone now. Also I cannot believe my girl Trixie got replaced by Chloe

These are all hints that the show was just run for way too long.

On and interesting note this isn’t the first time Chester and AJ both disappeared. In the Fairly Odd Parents movie: Grow up Timmy Turner Chester and AJ were only in the premier airing and after that they are completely omitted from other airings

Francis was originally gonna appear in Season 9 episode “Bored identity” along with A.J. and Chester but was scrapped for unknown reasons. You can see the scrapped scene of Francis running away from Mr. Turner’s car while AJ and Chester is delighted to see him getting ran over because it was payback for bullying AJ and Chester. Also in season 10 episode “Chloe rules”, when Chloe the hall monitor found the unnamed student in the hall locker, the unnamed student claimed that a bully (possibly referring to Francis) stuffed him in the locker when in actually, an unnamed girl hid the boy in her locker because you can see her being very nervous when Chloe did the search in her locker.

I remember Veronica Star , Trixies BestFriend somehow had a crush on Timmy and wanted to be like Trixie Sadly the show never tried using that idea more

It's sad really. Chester and A.J. were great characters in the show, and they both had their own character dynamics & everything. Until they were forced to become literal background characters in the last few seasons, lost & forgotten to time. Even *VICKY, THE MAIN CAUSE OF TIMMY GETTING FAIRY GODPARENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE,* was reduced to a random background character (until they decided to actually bring her back for one more episode, in which ended up being the FINAL EPISODE of the series).

That wasnt chesters original voice actor either, jason marsdens final line as chester was timmys secret wish

The last good episodes was the wishology trilogy of season 6 and every major and side character got to shines in that trilogy in some way

I normally hate shorts, but this has so much more to it than the average one, so I liked it :)

If it wasn’t the fact this is a cartoon and not a live action T.V. Comdey, I would’ve guess it was a budget issue.

Funny that I never knew they got rid of them seeing as their last appearance was literally the last time I watched the show. Just shows how much the show went down hill after I stopped watching it apparently.
