Down here on my home lakes Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn you'd be hard pressed to see anyone without at least 1 Carolina rig on their front deck. I alway found it funny several years ago to present day when you hear a lot of the pros or KZreadrs say how much they hate this rig or how stupid it is. I've caught more fish and big fish along with a few double digits on this rig then anything else and it's worked on every body of water I've ever been on. I have at least 1 tied up on my front deck 365 days a year. Sometimes I'll have 2 or 3 with different size or style of weights and plastics. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

I remember seeing this rig and buying the set-up with brass weights and 2 red/orange beads decades ago. Still have it unopened in my old tackle box. I'll have to bust it out and try it.

The ole ball and chain! DO it!!! This is my fave for a new spot. lets you really feel the bottom. It helps you call out those fish.

Thats funny. Im 25 and i was talking to my dad the other day about using wome older baits that people seem to have just forgotten about. I dont think i ever used a carolina rig but i always remember my dad using it when i was a kid. This is the aign i needed definitely gonna tie one on this week.

LMAO...I have a older fishing buddy, whenever he takes me out, he has 3-5 rods all rigged up the same with a 1oz C-Rig with a Zoom Z-craw, and 20lb Fluoro. He always catches them that's for sure.

Mike you forget that a lot of us regular fishermen don't have all that expensive electronics. We have at most two graphs on the boat. Not three on the front and two at the wheel like the pros.

Carolina rig is the original sonar... you don't need a graph to fish it although it might help!

@@mikeiaconellifishing hey Mike,I've fished all my life but never touched an abu Garcia combo until recently and I'm blown away by the performance. That black max combo casted better than a lot of my hi end equipment... incredible that they can make something like that as cheap as they do.
