We don’t see much here. I think we had 1/2 inch. But it’s been a long stretch of cold weather. I’ve burned a bunch of firewood!

@@tennesseesawmillguy1590 yes sir, i burned up all my fliches that was cut up 20” in length. I have decided that I may lean towards a little thicker hardwood flitch so it will last longer in the stove. Usually I keep them thin because of the weight and getting them on the buzzsaw. Looking forward to your cabin build if u decide to video it!

I’m looking at a mill like this but it was ran by an engine. Has Pully’s on the shaft for belts. How could I covert to pto driven.

If it has the blade on the same side as this one and rotates the same direction as a PTO, you can just put a PTO shaft on the mandrel shaft. Just make sure your blade is hammered/tensioned for the rpm you’re turning. If the blade turns opposite of PTO rotation, the direction can be reversed by running a wheel/tire against a pulley. There’s a few on KZread that are set up that way. Dean

Yes sir back again why don’t you build yourself a sawbuck for your cut off’s. Your slab wood is what I mean. Unless you have one already. Stay safe. 🇨🇦

That’s in the plans. We have a saw but it’s not hooked up. I’m working on a few additions on the mill but we are swamped doing other things right now.

Just wondering if do you have the original apparatus that drives the carriage or if you had to rebuild it to beef it up and what is arbor shaft size and also do you have to put a reducer insert to mount your blade? I believe the standard hole on a 52 inch is 2 inch and the Belsaw arbor size is smaller. And I was wondering if you’re happy with the carriage I believe it looks like a standard 10 foot ? Thanks

It’s all original cable drive and pretty much original carriage. Except for the scale. I don’t have a spacer ring on the blade. It bolts right up. I’m happy with everything but I keep in mind that it’s a light duty mill.

What size is the shaft on your arbor and what is the arbor diameter and what is the diameter of your saw blade and what style shanks and teeth does it take did you buy it new and is that original steel in the framework including the log deck? Thanks For a great video!

Didn’t buy new. Frame has been restocked once. The blade is a f style 52”. Not sure on arbor/collar and shaft size. Haven’t measured them.

Hello does the Farmall tractor have plenty of power for the Sawmill, I just got a M 24 Foley Bell saw but I need a motor or tractor to pull it any help would be appreciated thanks Gary

  • @tennesseesawmillguy1590

Hey Gary Honestly, to pull this 52 inch blade, I’d ideally need around 80-90 horsepower. But some Belsaw mills have lower HP blades. Some are skip tooth blades, which require much less power. The Super M will handle soft wood up to 17” fairly well. And hardwood up to 14”. On hardwood, I can remove half of the blade inserts and it does much better. But I can feather the control and slow the feed rate down if I have to.

There’s some videos on KZread where smaller tractors are pulling a Belsaw. It just depends on what blade is on the mill.

Hello, There’s four guide wheels on the blade side and four roller wheels on the other side of the carriage. They are a small diameter on these mills, so they do a lot of turning. They are greasable though.
