It’s hardly objectively bad. Willy’s was intentionally made to be not scary but comedic *and succeeds.* While I have ‘doubts’ about the “not based on FNAF” thing, this movie is a C-Lister and it plays right into that. The movie isn’t meant to be taken seriously as a horror movie. It’s “Nick Cage goes on animatronic-murder rampage while stupid shenanigans happens on the sidelines”, c’mon.

Honestly, I'm surprised that there haven't been more FNAF-like movies that came out between the 8 year-long wait before the actual movie came out. It's an interesting concept for a movie/short film, and I'm shocked that more people haven't jumped at it while the initial film was being developed.

So what I know about Willy's Wonderland is that Nick Cage was actually really passionate about it. The movie didn't have a huge budget even though it was distributed (and possibly produced by) Warner Bros. Nick apparently was gonna have to turn down the role because they couldn't afford him. However, he gave them a loophole: "I get paid for my time, sure. But mostly I'm paid by word". So the Janitor was silent as a loophole so they could afford Nick. He apparently thought it was really funny he didn't speak as well as great challenge because his acting would have to rely on only his body language and facial expressions. I personally think it was a great movie because it captured the bad 80's b film vibe it set out to accomplish.

On the whole thing of pooka becoming what the people believe. It reminds me of Re;Creators, where a character's power basically comes from what people believe they can do. So in scene they try to make a new character to defeat the big bad, and also give another character a power up, but the people have to believe it to work. It's always an interesting concept.

the reason those things that predate fnaf seem to predict it is because they and fnaf were based on showbiz pizza's band the rockafire explosion. the frontman was a bear but all the other species are different. tho rockafire had a wolf and foxy is a canine but thats usually the most overlap there is. Not enough gorillas on the keys out there. the hug just made some minor cosmetic changes to an actual billy bob animatronic for their short and I think it worked well. I loved Willy's Wonderland because its so weird and makes no sense and bad and exposition dumping. it was incredible in every way. My favorite thing was the unbranded Punch Drink he kept drinking on breaks with a clearly hand-made label on an aluminum can.

I got to come in defense of the greatest cinematic masterpiece of our generation. I love Willie's wonderland so much. It's dumb, blunt, and in my opinion a complete opposition to Freddy fazbear. The movie is the antithesis of horror, Nick Cage has absolutely nothing to fear from those evil animatronics. He does not give a shit about their backstory, their plans, or the fact that they should be able to kill him easily. If God had wanted them to succeed in their plan, then Nicholas Cage would not have been born.

The fact Blumhouse made the new FNAF movie after making Pooka and Megan, I’m actually excited to see it tomorrow. I don’t need a lore heavy movie. I want what Fnaf started as a goofy little horror thing made because people said the style was uncanny. Like I just want a goofy movie with goofy animatronics with some stupid jump scares with some story elements. I just want something fun to giggle and enjoy. Yes, Willy’s Wonderland is a mess but it’s so funny! It’s like Nick Cage is the protagonist in a bad horror game and it shows it. Like him going on break and to his game and getting his drink is like when your in a rpg and you just dip out to the hub, bulk up, and then return so you don’t lose the fight. It’s just so freaking fun. Edit: I loved the movie, I know this is months later and I’m sorry for not saying anything sooner. It and Willys Wonderland are so fun. They’re just the most BS funny “horror” movies and I adore them. I didn’t want something amazing and wow worthy. I wanted funny fandom bs and that’s what I got and I loved it

I came to realize that Willy's Wonderland is similar in terms of plot to FNaF Guy takes a job in an old children's restaurant with haunted animatronics that go on a killing spree. Only in FNaF, the spirits are kids, and the animatronic designs don't look butt-ugly

I’m now planning on watching all of these after watching the FNAF movie and will come back with my thoughts on them all. I’ve just finished Willys wonderland and god was it quite awful. It was so weird and confusing and just made me feel weird and a bit uncomfortable the whole time. The Fnaf movie was already 10 times better and that’s saying a lot considering the fact that a little over half the people seem hate it or something about it. The banana splits movie was actually pretty solid. It has a better structure than I’d expect and was way more gruesome than I originally thought. It was a good movie though. I’d definitely recommend watching that over Willys Wonderland for sure but it’s not as good as the Fnaf movie in my opinion, even if it’s more gruesome. Anyway I’ll be back later to update on the other movies
