Honestly we gotta appreciate Batman's response to the letter tho. After shedding tears simply telling Barry "You're one hell of a messenger." I honestly really love that moment.

The reason Flash couldnt run back in time after he got his powers back was because he wasnt quite as fast as he was in his prime. This was because the Speedforce access was being limited and split between both him and Reverse Flash in this timeline. Once Batman killed Thawne, he got full access and was able to go fast enough to go back in time.

I was thinking he couldn't use it because he was focused on trying to set things right in this present rather than going back to the past immediately. But once he fought zoom and found he wasn't the reason all this he chose to go back in time to reset everything.

"how did he get back" The comics have always maintained going to another time period or earth requires you to continuously vibrate at a certain frequency. Based on that, when he saved his mom he would lose his powers and therefore stop vibrating which would return him to his present.

As stupid as the writing can be, the human plot aspects were incredible. A alcohol addicted brutal batman. A uneducated and weakened superman, and a superhuman war that's destroying earth. It's cool stuff that we wish the main DC universe would take the risk of showing real damage to the world and it's heroes.

+ComicPOP I think you should have started your lesson with Road to Flashpoint. It explains how finding out Reverse Flash was the one who actually killed Nora Allen really got into Barry's head and made him race back in time, when in his normal state of mind he would be too careful to mess with the timeline that way.

  • @Xaintrix

Wow, seeing Ben lose his shit was incredible. My first experience with Flashpoint was the Injustice skins and then watching the bent Two Earths animated movie. I had no idea it was a not-crisis crisis to shoehorn three separate messes into one big pile.

  • @infernaldisdain8051

To the whole "what created the Flash" conversation: The Flash originally existed independently of Eobard and his mother was alive. Eobard went back into the past and killed the Flash's mother there and thus changing the Flash's whole reason for becoming a forensic scientist (though he would have become one anyway). Now why couldn't Barry change the time back without causing a Flashpoint? As established in Booster Gold earlier some time is "Hard" and cannot withstand changes, this is usually time in which important events have happened, and like it or not Flash's mother dying was made into "Hard" time by Thawne's changes.

BTW the excuse that Barry couldn't run fast enough to go through time, was Reverse Flash was siphoning off enough of the speedforce to stop time travel. When batman killed him, that gave Barry that ability back. As i am typing this, i realize how stupid this is.

14:23 the flash does lose his powers once he saved his mom. What happened was Barry began to live the new timeline created from his young age but once he be came as old as he was when he travelled back in time to save his mom in the nee timeline, he was reverted back to his previous consciousness of the original timeline. This os why his mother is confused at his sudden strange behaviour in the comic.

This is easily the best episode yet. It's like the culmination of all the work that's been put into the series thus far, and now the ball is REALLY rolling. The comedic chemistry between you guys is phenomenal (plus you're all from Jersey, and I love me some Jersey lol), and, like I keep saying, the editing work is top-notch. This show has an uncanny ability to teach you everything that happens in a book without ever realizing it, because you're too busy enjoying yourself and laughing hysterically at the mere mention of the term "trillion google-seconds." I'm so, so glad you took the opportunity to reach out to Benny and Rob, because I never would have found this channel otherwise. After watching, like, a dozen of these past shows im realizing something: comic book writers should have a group of friends who dont read comics who they should approach and tell the plots to the story their doing and hear their reactions, because watching Ethan and Ben's reactions to these storylines are hilarious, since their minds arent....tainted....for lack of a better word, by years and years of reading comics they can see through shit writing unfiltered and be like "No, that's a horrible idea" and puts into perspective how asinine comic book storylines are, even ones one mght think are cool and perfect an whatnot they see the silliness and stupidity to them, Like i said it's hilarious to watch.

Why is Ben so pissed at this book? The changes in the Flashpoint Universe are caused by his mother being alive and thus butterflies are being trampled. When Flash kills Thawne to "course correct" the timeline more butterflies are bring trampled and thus The New 52 is born. If he's pissed about paradoxes, don't let him watch/read anything with time travel, because that is why those stories exist. Letting a paradox slide a problem occurs and that's why you get time travel stories. I didn't read comics growing up either, I only recently picked it up, so it isn't that (I'm 27 by the way). Actually, this show is amazing, and even though Ben's confusion is annoying here, I love that most of the time Ben and Ethan are on the same page as me when it comes to asking questions.

The concept of a New 52 isn't a bad thing. Heck, both the first full reboot of the DC Universe (Crisis on Infinite Earths and the new universe it established) and the current soft reboot (DC Rebirth) are really, really good. It's just that from all that I've heard, the actual New 52 we got was really, really poorly planned, with writers very much in the middle of storylines just having everything upended overnight with no real warning, and no real unified plan for what a full reboot of the DCU even meant. Plus, lots of bad writing.

That story is one of the most bizarre, off the wall, so ridiculous I cant believe someone reviewed it and thought "Lets publish this and then change the entire universe because of it!!!" like...WOW...anyways, good job guys! For me the worst animated movies from DC was the one that really tried to introduce Supergirl and the one where they went extreme with the muscle drawings.

There were some Flashpoint tie-ins that give a deeper insight into the world and stuff. I'm sure they showed the war much more in-depth.

Sorry but Aquaman and WW conflict explained wrong. Your story is the animated movie's plot. In comic, they are in love and gone get merried but in wedding day Ocean Master (Aquaman's brother) and Diana's aunt (Hippolyte's sister) made a set up and Hippolyte and Garth (Aqualad) killed. Both side blamed each other and war started.

When Barry goes back in time to save him mom he does it by stopping Eobard. RF technically no longer exists but he's in the timeline so he's a none entity. R-flash was inspired by a flash that doesnt exist and he doesnt go back to his own timeline. He exist in his own timeline. If you take something out of a box that's designed to fit around the thing, and you alter the box so that the thing No longer fits, the thing doesn't go away. It's just there. Now Eobard is just going through time because he nothing else to do.

I think that _"Flashpoint"_ is one of the greatest alternate reality stories ever written... But that people have a major problem with it and have allowed it to have a bad reputation... All because it ends in the birth of the _"New 52"._ I understand hating the ending, the _"Post- Crisis Continuity"_ at DC is my favorite period in comics... And this book is kind of it's Tombstone.... But ignoring that aspect... It's a PERFECT Flash story and one of the greatest Timelines DC or any other Comic Book Company will every have.

there is a delay kind of like this comment very delayed. LOL flash when he goes back to save his mother is in a temporal interference stream allowing him to be an anomaly until exits it fixi,g himself to a centralized space/time. When he goes back to the time that is supposed to be his present he locks himself into that space/time and the effects of the temporal Distortion begin to catch up with him indicated by his memories beginning to be overwritten with the new timeline.

  • @r.babylon2885
    @r.babylon28859 жыл бұрын

The explanation was that if you go so fast, you create a sonic boom. Flash ran so fast he created a temporal boom. Makes sense to me as time is the fourth dimension.
