In Flashpoint universe Jim Gordan never got married or had kids. It was on a panel in the video.

I'm sure this was mentioned by now, but it shows Selina saying to Jim, "You never had kids, did you?" He says, "or a wife, time kinda got away from me". So, that's the answer to Barbra's whereabouts. She was never born. Love the channel, man.

it depends on which "era" for lack of a better term you go by. originally Barbara was written as Jims Niece and later adopted daughter, but after some reboots like the Crises (plural of Crisis, just so you know I didnt misspell it) and stuff she has been his biological daughter.

Blake Staggs wait a minute, wasn't Barbara Gordon adopted from Jim's brother or sister? I thought she was originally his niece that he adopted after her parents died.

I loved everything about flashpoint, I think character changes are glossed over to a degree partially simply to the fact that every aspect of history was changed. I understood as i saw it that billy batson for example NOT growing up with superman to idolize made him not as "pure" and thus it took multiple children to form Shazam, similar situation to no Barbara gordon.

I have a feeling that Heath Ledger's joker had a big influence in Martha Wayne's design in flashpoint cause looking at her I thought of Nolan's Joker

I wish you could have mentioned that the reason that Martha snapped at the end which led to her death, was Thomas admitting to her that, even in a world where she & Thomas died and Bruce "lived", Bruce still "died" and became a Batman. That Bruce never had a normal life, and would presumably meet a sad end (such as the stories from "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" talked about). That Martha killed herself because even in a "better world" where her son lived, her son still died and became, what she perceived to be, an empty shell of who he used to be, a shell of who he could have become.

Rob, to answer your question about where Barbra is, look at 13:25 right in this video. Seline asks Gorden "You never had kids, did you?" And Gorden explains that no, that in time timeline he never got around to having a wife, so no Daughter.

Out of all the flashpoint tie-ins, this version of Batman and Joker fascinated me.

The story was really sad and really good. I prefer you continue.

I would enjoy more flashpoint coverage. It's a great story and getting more in depth discussion is always interesting in these alternate realities

Yeah, this is a good and proper alternate timeline.

I might have been a bit inebriated, but dayum, that Thomas Wayne reveal sent some crazy chills down my spine.

It was cool to hear about the stand alone batman flashpoint comic. Didn't know it was out there. I thought it was just the flashpoint comic by itself. So thanks for sharing that. I'd be interested to hear the other characters back stories.

Thanks for covering this! I wasn't a big fan of 52 but I LOVE the flash point. I thought it was highly dynamic and showed DC characters in a lot of ways we'd never seen them before. Ways that were so raw. I think this was in part because it wasn't expected to be a long lasting issue for those characters to be established in, however, because of that I feel like they didn't hold back within how they portrayed characters.

I am loving this in depth story of the flashpoint event. Do continue.

This is an exceptional story and blending The FLASH's first Flashpoint issue with the three issue miniseries for Thomas Wayne's BATMAN was a perfect choice for this video.

I saw the cartoon version of this on Netflix a couple months back. Really a very interesting take on the DC universe.

Rob, Barbera doesnt exist, at least not in any way that matters. Jim commented in that first panel with Selina that he *never had the time to have a wife or kids* . That's a fairly big thing to miss for having shown it on screen. To be fair though it was just a throwaway comment in that one panel.

I saw the movie TV movie and loved it. Good to know the backstory so more videos would be appreciate

FYI people there is also an animated movie about this story. it covers the events pretty well but some are missing. Still worth a watch if you liked the comics.

You left out the reason Martha Wayne's insanity kicked back in: Martha asks what will happen to their orphaned son. Thomas replies that he will be like his father. Martha asks if this means Bruce will become a doctor. Thomas says no and Martha realizes to her horror that their son will become Batman.

Wow I'm surprised at how loyal the Flashpoint Paradox movie was. Yes I'd love to see more of this, Flashpoint is a very interesting take on the DC universe.

this was a good video. I think you covered a lot of the main points and important details. a few things were missing, however, like how thomas owns all the crime in gotham, the status of others like harvey dent, bullock, and montoya, and, most importantly, how martha only runs off because thomas tells her that bruce becomes batman. despite those missing details, I still enjoyed the video. thanks!

Great video again Rob, lovin it! You should most definitely cover the character origins from the Flashpoint U as well as the main arc. I know thats a lot of work but it would be awesome. Im a sucker for ANYTHING Bat related so naturally i loved Thomas and Martha's story from Flashpoint. Wish DC would have released the Flashpoint animated movie in different parts, to cover more of the info left out of the movie, great movie, just missing alot. Rob i never hear you talk about the DC or Marvel animated movies, do you like them at all?
