    They denied adding signal strength and range to spo-15 because "they don't know how to fit the UI in" in the bug report, but I think it'll be worked on and added like usual when they deny stuff lol.

    Why not just put the signal strength around the rwr circle like the actual spo-15?

    I really like the radar display on the HUD of the Su-27, it really saves me eye strain from glancing back and forth between the middle of the screen and the bottom right

    I tend to just flick into manual and rip the nose around for an r73 shot. Works even against the gripen surprisingly but it only works in 1v1s and if you lose sight on the target after the merge it's not worth doing.

    I got absolutely destroyed in chat the other day because I prefer the j11 over the su27. The j11 can just sit at 850-900 KPH and planes like the 16C and the 15A will just try and cut into your turn / lose all of their energy. Dropping the ERs if you have them going into the merge helps too especially if you get too slow

    Yeah but they will be inside of your turn with good weapons release queue's, which is why people destroyed you in chat.

    As far as I know, for the Russian jets to get any good RWR on par with western jets Gaijin would need to add some seriously modern Russian fighters like the Flanker H or Su-30sm, although there are also modernized version of Su-27 and 33 as these were equipped with modernized RWR (E.g. L-150). But even those will have seriously stacked kit compared to in game equivalent. So yeah.... Those seems pretty far off which will suck for balance :( Also it's bullshit how the signal strength from radar pings is not modeled for the current RWR we have, at least I can know which pings I should check first. Edit: This is secondhand information from r/hoggit, take it with a grain of salt.

    The signal strenght is so true. Even the most primite rwr's on ussr have it but they refuse to model it. AND it would be so easy to do it, just make it so that every signal is not known but the range is.

    The SU-27K/SU-33 was always intended with Pastel, but it spent the first 3-5 years without any RWR because they were still working on it lol.

    @@goliath3413 like Tomcats RWR is modeled in the game, I mean it’s modeled literally like SPO-15 can be modeled even without any changes, in the game it shows only range(signal strength) and higher or lower the threat is(instead of names there’re “hi”-s and “lo”-s) and that’s exactly what SPO-15 does irl(except ranges for secondary threats) Upd: so I think they dont want to add it because of “balance” thing, not because they dont know how to do it. If its RWR was modeled in the same way as tomcat’s one, Su would be such a great machine to play even solo but for now I personally bring it only to lobbies with like only 2-3 players or in custom 1v1 lobbies or in squad with planes that have properly modelled avionics, otherwise I’m forced to play in 29SMT just because I can see something in this thing and at least I can try to avoid or can try to run away from the threats that I unlikely will defeat like gripens or f-16s and I know if I can do it(run away) or they’re too close so I have to face them in BFM

    @@user-jy6cn3jy8g "Balance" right, like they did with phantoms when the rwr changes came in. Their rwr did not have the band for mig23s radars for 2 weeks and then they decided its not balanced so they added that band to the phantoms rwrs lol. Wish they would do that with the rolands band and su25 rwr. No search or track OR launch warning.

    Here’s one hint: if it is below 800kmh it can do one solid turn and bleed all of its speed, but it will be a solid turn, similar to f-16a at 600-700kmh But if it is faster than 800kmh it really doesn’t turn, it pulls like 29SMT(8-9Gs in sustained turn at 800-900kmh with minimum fuel) and if it’s faster than 900 it doesn’t lose energy at all but start pulling even less(same G but higher speed = even bigger radius and less angular speed), doesn’t matter how hard you’ll pull, it will only accelerate to over 1100kmh but still won’t pull(10-11G is max I pulled in this thing) So this is one of the hardest planes to play in(energy management wise)

    how do you deal with AIM9M's in SIM? Call it a skill issue, but atleast R73's/magic 2's can be countered relatively well by preflaring. however, most of the time i dont even see the missile launch, and when i do see it launch somehow, i have to basically dump all my flares to dodge it, because if i do it slower the missile still hits me

    You can use periodic flares with 4 drops per second(this requires normal flares otherwise you’ll be out of flares in 1 second), and in headons start pre flaring from 5km, in dogfight turn on periodic flares if you see that he will be able to launch a missile soon and turn it off only if you think that you’re 100% safe(like if you’re in his rear semi sphere) otherwise it is pretty much impossible to flare 9Ms in sim(mostly because you can’t see it)

    I hate Sinai in my F16C or my F15, just no cover and constantly being pinged on radar makes me very uncomfortable.

    Outside of gripens I win the fight 90% of the time post merge. Rip the stick and use hmd to fire off bore shots. R73s are too insane. Even in slow speeds you can get kills from the enemy being in the neutral zone. Also the RWR is a downside however it isn’t a total win for A side because of all the nations with F-16s, F-15s that can throw you off. But it is a massive advantage that I can roll around in my F-16C and keep my radar off and just chase enemy radar pings.

    Red team constsntly losing is a never solved issue. No matter what usa fanboy say, they always had the best top tier in game since the f14 was added. Honestly the only way out of this is fixing multipath and introducing the bonus to rp points they talked about dome time ago when you research another nation.

    Mig29smt isnt that bad if you fly it with the same ideal as the flanker, as long as you arent more than like 20 minutes of fuel in a dogfight

    Depending on the opponent, I will not dogfight with the 29SMT. A F-4S, sure. Either than anything that is super heavy, the 29SMT is a brick. If you still got R-73s then you still got a chance in a circle fight but every other aircraft is going to out turn you. The 29G would be a better option for engaging in dogfights

    I was dogfighting F15s, F16C, Mirages, and even the Gripen and won every fight, though the fight with the Gripen I only won cuz he had bombs on him. I ended up going 30-5, which is the best match I've ever had in the SMT or any jet.
