I grew up on a farm too. It's amazing how many people don't realize where their food comes from. They can't seem to fathom that anyone would work voluntarily in the fields to grow the foods they eat. 🥴

I work in the construction industry that specifically uses the term master bedroom. We're being asked to change our language (which by the way, NO ONE associates with slavery) under this woke, hyper-sensitive BS. I've had countless conversations with others in my field (ha, see can't get away from normal language) and the consensus is that this is all ridiculous.

Hawaiians were conquered by MILITARY DICTATOR Kamehameha in 1782-1810. As a dictator, his was an ABSOLUTE monarchy. His son Kamehameha II destroyed the Hawaiian religion, gods, temples, and tabu system, in 1819-1820, but died on a trip to England. I don't follow the USA Today for how I treat people. I will wait for a Hawaiian to correct me if they are offended. No government necessary, no training, I will deal with it when it arises.

Some folks WANT to feel offended.. They LOOK for things , sayings , words then SAY "you offended me" to think they are offended..Remember b-fore phones , computers ,internet , media ,social that this feeling of offended wasn't around not nearly as much as NOW.. What is the reason??

The word Haole is racist. Hawaiian culture is predominantly racist. Prove me wrong.

Haole is a name that Hawaiins use for people who are not citizens of their islands.

Wow, the dictionary must be wrong. 🤔 noun Sometimes Disparaging. (among Polynesian Hawaiians) a term used to refer to a non-Polynesian, especially a white person. See, context is everything, just like the "n word". It's ok if you call another Hawaiian Haole, meaning "not from the islands", but if you refer to a "white person" as Haole (which is how it's used 99% of the time) it is racist. Context people.

@@scottjeune154 No. Look it up in the Hawaiian Dictionary by Pukui and Elbert, 1986 edition, page 58. HAOLE means "foreigner" or "stranger" or "white person". And the spelling is NOT "ha'ole". It's also applied to some plants, as in "koa haole" which means "foreign koa" (a type of tree).

Next it will be “adios”.

With an in-law who is actually Hawaiian, I can tell you it’s not an issue to say Aloha. It’s in the State’s nickname for God’s sake.

If some doesn't like the way Hawaiian speak their language then don't go there...
