This makes me want to run a game that starts out in Strix Haven (going to college) for 4 years before moving on to Acquisitions Inc. (Your career/job).

I think a part of the lack of content for the Magic: the Gathering setting is that Strixhaven is a much newer setting in Magic: the Gathering, Theros and Ravnica are both 8 and 10+ years old, respectivley, while Strixhaven is barely a year old.

Gentlemen gentlemen, winter break just started and you’re putting us back in school already? Well darn guess I’ve got nothing to say but thank you once again. 😂

The amount of character ideas that come to mind though with each college. I don't actually know where to start if someone runs a campaign. A silverquill bard with grand political aspirations. A echoe knight learning from the quaindrix college in order to further his fighting prowess and expand his know how. A artificer digging into the past for long lost artifacts with the other students of lorehold hoping to fathom new ideas and constructs. A sorceror looking to express the chaos and passion they hold deep inside through insane arcane performances with the tutors of prismari guiding them. Or even a weird outcast alchemist seeking truths in nature and forbidden magical sciences that no one has dared to dabble in seeking a cure for a sick loved one. These are just a few of the ideas I got from watching you guys talk about each one. Keep up the awesome content.

I am playing a Saytr who is an inheritor of a profession he wants nothing to do with..he spends his days drinking and carousing so that his father feels he isn't worthy of taking over. He was sent to the local temple to clean up (like rehab) But the temple was of Sune goddess of life, beauty and passion. He got on well there and now he can marry people..nice. Due to a good friends need to find out their history he was brought to Strixhaven. Now he is in Witherbloom trying to make the best goodberry hooch the college has ever tasted. (He's a mix of Van Wilder and the Fonz). 1 life cleric/ 3 celestial lock (chain pact) the rest glamour bard.

Kinda blows the survey results are what took out subclasses that were gonna appear here. They all sounded amazing

Unfortunately the 5e system wasn't designed for classes sharing subclasses. They tried to do something Pathfinder does and it just didn't workout well.

There’s always homebrew games too, so its something i would explore more there where you have the flexibility to not only find a way to use them but even maybe improve on them so they arent such outliers.

Just had a session 0 last night for a magic school campaign! I'm not sure if Strixhaven was an influence or not, but we're playing the teachers so that's exciting XP

I actually like this entry because it adds more usages of magic. I feel like there are plenty of more different types of classes in the magic category than people realize.

I'm with Brian. Harry was raised and trained to fight Voldemort to the death. And Dumbledore always suspected Harry was a Horcrux. Ergo, Dumbledore is an ass.

They had interesting Unearthed Arcana subclass options for each college, but the feedback caused them to scrap the idea. Mostly because the subclasses were for multiple classes. Witherbloom had a subclass you could take as either a Druid or Warlock, for example.

Bard colleges are literally academic colleges. Like the witcher’s school of the wolf where you learn wolf melee and wolf magic skills. Other than that, a bard is a rogue using social skills to get closer to a target lol.

Will lives in a cave of shadow puppets expressing different ideas to imperfect impart better given to him from a Divine realm of ideals. These reflections for high reality are dulled only so that we can see them. All this because Will said he dwelled in a cave.

Ravnica, Theros, and Strixhaven are mtg crossover resources. The first two are like worlds in mtg lore. Strixhaven is more like a place in a world. More like The curse of Stradd
