Like Dan I don't "collect". Stopped years ago. Used to have lots of old AFX and some T Jets too. Things like the Peace Tank, Vans, VW Things and lots of others they made are more like oddities than something you would want to put on the track and run. So now I have only a handful of uncommon cars that I really really like and they aren't shelf queens, they get run. On the other hand I have lots and lots of my favorite runners. Have so many of them I'm really not even motivated to buy more.

If there were money to be made selling slot cars and sets at Walmart then I would expect Mattel would be doing it. They, of course, can use the Hot Wheels name. There must be good reasons why they aren't doing it.

Autoworld just doesn't understand the market. At all. Every Buick GSX sold and they command a premium price on the aftermarket. So what does AW do? Make more GSXs? No, they make plain Jane GSs.
