This was the first Christian film I watched back in the day. Still great to see all these years later. 👍💯🙏

This guy was a great example of how to lead like Christ Jesus.He was an example to the youth showing them compassion,love and forgiveness.He didn't judge them but showed them uncondtional love.

Great example of a humble man that tough how you deal with youth in wisdom love perseverance and show them that the only way to heaven is through Jesus. Great movie. God bless.

The ending wasn't what I expected, but it was realistic. Yes, I would have liked to see what happened next. Would the adults consider what the teens said and realize he had been awesome and ask him to return? Not likely, since they had a "proper" one coming from Fuller Theological Seminary. The ending made think of how when Jesus left the disciples it was up to them what happened. Would they let the Holy Spirit speak and act through them?? Or would they become like the pharmacies or what? Jesus took a big risk, leaving the Great Commission in our hands.

I couldn't agree more as illustrated by the following prayer of complete surrender using caps as emphasis to help others find THE WAY AT GOD'S MERCY, HIS LOVE GIFT IN JESUS CHRIST. On a balcony of space STEPPED A PURE AND HOLY GOD. IN AWESOME SOLITUDE YOU STOOD ALONE. Not one faint star to give YOU light; just endless darkness, it was blackest night. But somehow in the darkness YOU COULD SEE. YOU SAW mountains high and lofty, YOU SAW valleys lush and green. YOU SAW babbling brooks, and wildflowers grow, YOU EVEN HEARD a robin sing. This movie was a great Inspirational movie I thought at the end that they would tell Morrell not to leave the church but I guess they ended it and you get to think of what will happen next maybe in the pastor in the youth group will come back to Morrell tell him that we really want you back.Morell is a example of a great youth pastor.Morell faced his weakest moment that the devil can put out for him like the man with the drugs and then he found the drugs in his front pocket of his jacket but he did not take the drug. Morell stayed strong even through the temptation and did not yield to taking the drug.God bless all youth Ministries that are like Morell.

This movie delivered a really deep love messages, just like our Lord Jesus taught us to love one another, thank you Christian movies, God bless you abundantly 😇

This movie has taught me never to give up and the key is just to speak the word of God. It never changes. Speak it with love. It may look like you are doing nothing. Morale looked like he was doing nothing but regardless of the challenges he faced including the opposition from parents, nothing moved him from fulfilling his ministry. Lord teach us to be faithful witnesses of Christ and remain faithful despite the challenge we may encounter.

This was a good movie, showing the difficulties of life & overcoming. Also showing a church not walking with God & his Love. When we pray, we need to pray in Jesus name. It seems that praying in Jesus name at the end of prayer, being not important enough to put it in some Christian movies. Jesus is the only way to come to the father, he is our bridge; so we pray to the father in Jesus name & ask him for what we need.

This movie needs a part 2! Where the Pharisees get over thrown and that church becomes a church again.

How can anyone bear the thought of his or her life story detracting from the GLORY AND HONOR KNOWN TO BELONG TO CHRIST ALONE? As a consequence, YOU ARE A MYSTERY OF GREAT MYSTERY to them. Despite this conviction, YOU ARE MINDFUL of them as evidenced by the fact that YOUR JUDGEMENT is not speedy, allowing them to pursue the desires of the flesh. Sad ending especially as he got one guy saved. Should have been a part 2 as a followup...

A church full of hypocrites, like the pastor's son said, all the people of that church cared about was appearances. I really didn't like the ending, so I made up one: the church full of these people "without sin" lol, fell apart while Muriel worked permanently at another church, with the young program there and made it a big success, because everyone was treated as God's children.

Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

These is truly and awesome way to shake up your Church youth department bring someone from another culture and they brought more light until these young people's eyes then they had ever experienced before. Bravo they got blessings of a lifetime yes his techniques or unconventional and certainly not on the line of what I want cause safe but they will never ever forget Monroe and the difference that he made in their lives because they were truly disrespectful young people. But they got a fresh Awakening from someone who cared and use the teachings of Christ and unusual ways I loved it!

Can someone tell me the name of the sweet Black actress who played the part of the shelter worker who helps Murell get up and ready? She has a pretty major role in the film, and yet I don't see her in the credits. I don't think her character is given a name for the movie, but I simply adore her kind nature. I think I have seen her in another movie or two??

Great movie, great teachings. Murell did what he learned from The Great Teacher of All Times, Jesus Christ.....He did what all true Christians supposed to do: ' Therefore go and make disciples, teach them.......', Matthew 28:19-20.

Morrell (spelling?) is adorable when he invites his new charges outside to the tree.

This was a wonderful movie!! Great example of what a youth pastor should be. He loved the young people and did not judge them, that brought about a positive change in them.Thats what God wants us to do. I didn't like the ending though, the church should have asked him to stay. The young people loved him

I felt the ending was very realistic. A church built on pleasing people and concerned with appearances and the status quo would not accept someone like Morrel. Morrel walks away from everybody, but not alone.

Heartwarming, forgiveness.

Shows how many false churches are out there. All there considered about is how much offertory money they get. About the number of congratulation they get. For one day of the week play happily families. While rest of the week stab you in the back. Slander others. Judge. No wonder Jesus will say on that day. I never knew you! They believe good works will earn their way into heaven. By grace we are saved. Not by works. It's by believing and trusting in the finished work of what he did for us on the cross that saves.

Good 🎥 and gave glory to the Lord.

The movie had a great storyline, but the ending was horrific. They were supposed to forgive him. He had good reasons for everything he did and none of them were intended to be cruel or insensitive to the youth if anything, he was a great example. He concurred homelessness and drug addiction and that is two TESTS problems to OVERCOME

I thought the pastor would come running out and say they voted to keep him. Should be a part two. But oh well.

I'm a tad riled up.... how many of the church leaders and adult congregation Visited the sick, gave a cup of water, fed the poor and clothed them... ???

Great movie, however, too close to my life. I was a Youth Pastor reaching children for Christ and I was chased away when the congregation found out about my past and being a homeless person. Even 40+ years later I still miss working with youth. The church has become anything but a place for people to heal. Numbers and money rule it all. It is not what God intended, such a shame. I prefer to say that I am a man of faith rather than be associated with a branded Christian church.

The church was so wrong! People should be about loving people, especially people who have wandered off. The church didn’t show love. Jesus shows us in the Bible that he went around to visit the lowliest of lowly people...He never cast them aside.
