The Walmart ONN has this beat in every aspect! And it’s only $19.00! The remote control has buttons galore and 4K UHD! I bought it for fun and it’s really cool! I have a firetv and two Toshiba firetvs I can use the onn for experiments!🙏🏻

I probably had one of the 1st generation Firesticks. It got thrown in a drawer, and there it has stayed. I bought an android box and never looked back. Now use a TX6 4Gb/32Gb box .... never a problem, no buffering and ample storage. I would never buy something that has 2 streaming company buttons on the remote.

Been using the Mi box for years and it works flawlesslly.

The X96s ATV stick was and still is an awesome streaming device, needs to have a processor updated, the s902x2 has become outdated

I've had one since the very first one was launched, it was only 1080p and only has 1gb of ram, but it does the job really well 🤪😜🤪😜

Looks good,I moved away from Fire sticks because of them forcing ads on the home screen,I now rock a Roku but would 100% buy one of those Mi.

It would have been nice to have a picture and sound quality comparison with the Fire Stick and also what you thought of the remote when actually using it.

The newest version of the Onn streaming device is the best available especially price wise, I still use the x96s ATV stick that has a built in micro SD slot for memory and a USB 3.0 port

I have the Global version 4k Mi Stick. Is great, Android 11 TV. I have and firecube and fire stick.

Chrome cast! Thats all I need to know. The hell with the firestick!

I use that remote with the MiBox S, I don't feel like missing anything else.

I love the Firestick and use it exclusively throughout my home. I also have a few Rokus which I never use, and that is primarily because I cannot download 3rd party APKs with it; otherwise it is actually a little better than the Firestick. Anyway, thank you for this video, I am always looking for the next best thing.

I agree. I have now tried both. I would be happy with the Roku if I was always in the US. But is astonishingly poor for English content when outside the Us and cannot support a VPN. I tried setting up a VPN in a router for use with ROKU, but that adds complexity and even then the Live TV Channel content would not stream. I could get US menus and content descriptions, but not the live content. Back to the Firestick…

When you first held that up, I thought: I thought this "wasn't" a Fire Stick ? 🤔 Then you spoke about the "camo" 😂

I've sworn by Roku Ultras for years - no complaints. I also have a Roku stick as well. 🤔

FYI, you never said what version of Android it was running ? That would've been helpful and a much better option is the ONN device for $20.00 @ walmart. Now I myself own the Formuler Z11 pro max 32gb.

I've had my me stick for more than one year now it's still works seamlessly and it's awesome. but you are correct about the remote it is not well made i am on my third replacement remote. It's not that they stopped working it's just that if you press right-left or up and down momentarily it will continue all the way to the right left up and down the remote is the only issue

Nice review, thank you. For the past two years i have has a Xiaomi Redmi phone, which i considered was a gamble at the time. Have to say though, it has been very good and proved my original worries to be unnecessary. So, on that, i wouldn't have any problem purchasing any of their other products ..... 👏👍😉

I have been using the mi stick 1080 p for the pass 2 year it’s ok after a few updates

I have a question. Did you test netflix? Could you navigate it with your remote or you had to use a mouse?

I'm not going to lie this was a good video.

At the price of it, if I wanted Android TV I'd just buy the Google Chromecast, it'll do the same thing and only cost £25 for the 1080p and £45 for the 4K.

Google Chromecast as Google TV OS. . . Android TV OS is different.

While I'm a fan of many Xiaomi products, at $60, I'd be much more likely to go for ONN's 4K box (now w/Chromecast) which has a remote far superior to the Mi stick, and also better than the Fire remotes, all for 20 BUCKS. Even their 2k stick is very good, and is HALF that price. For those unfamiliar, ONN is a Walmart store brand that knocks off many popular products. The 4k box and 2k stick are often sold out.

As a fist rev entry to compete against Amazon, it doesn't seem too bad. Not many new products have the financial backing to use the best quality materials. I am in favor of the lack of voice control and am curious about it collecting my data. Time will tell all. Thanks for another great update.

Do NOT use the Firestick. . . Android/Google is so much better. Amazon is getting picky on 3rd party apps and they will delete apps from your Amazon Device. . . STAY AWAY FROM THE FIRESTICK. This dude gets paid by Amazon to upsell and talk good about their product.

7 months ago compared to 7 hrs ago. Android changed, no more 3rd party open source systems. Im keeping mine for the cheap content. Hopefully no monthly service free and open source Kodi

Nvidia Shield is the Cadillac though.

Fat32, but it will automatically format your flash drives to the right format.

they should have added a micro sdcard port at least. I know we might use otg but, come on guys a micro sd port isn't that hard to implement in your devices...

Can third party apps be installed? The ONLY reason I still use my Firestick is because I have Cinema on it, and I've signed up for Real Debrid, which works great on it. Otherwise, I use a Roku. But if this one will allow third party apps, once Firestick blocks their use, I'll make the switch.

I have 3 rooted Firestick 4K in my closet and has been sitting there for 2 years since I got my Onn Device for 20 bucks and I love it. The only issue I have with it it has low volume on it. I'm thinking of upgrading to the new Onn device.

In 2023 if your not using it for I P T V there is no point with sky TV having all the apps on your sky TV service, if you have not got sky TV, Virginia TV have the same options on there service and if you don't have any of them smart TVs or android TVs have all you need

Not to be too pessimistic, but I’d bet it’s 1080p at best, and I’d be suprised if it didn’t have the dreaded core files Linus tech tips talked about that talk back to shady IPs in China.

Im sure having no batteries allows them to get through to more global shipping routes with less restrictions coming from China.

@@UpgradeGuyTech Most of the batteries pre installed are junk, and don't last long. I'd rather put in a fresh set of Energizer or Duracell batteries. There's less risk of the battery leaking as well.

I just don't understand why would you need something like this with a smart television?

you're probably better off with your own batteries. The batteries that come with electronic devices usually aren't that good to begin with.

Just use an OTG Cable and then add a flash drive for extra storage and you're good.

The problem with these Chinese knock-offs is the possibility for it to have inbedded malware.

Thanks for the video. NONE of the Android remotes have a rewind, play/pause. or fast forward buttons, like the Firesticks and the Rokus do. Since most remotes are Bluetooth these days, maybe we could pair an extra Roku or Firestick remote with the Android boxes/sticks? Have you tried that?

I found the FireStick alternative about a week after I bought my first gen stick ...... it was called an android box. The FireStick was thrown into a drawer never to see the light of day again ! Never looked back. Now .... tons of RAM, tons of storage space ..... never any buffering ..... easy to set up.

My bro I has a dare for ya & I know That if you are a Legit user of tvs you will make it just happen which is downloading the ultimate app for a tv god of all tv apps Like how basically tasker is a ultimate app for a mobile
