The Fire, Passion and Anger of Larry Kramer - Never before seen live video

Ойын-сауық

So many of us were deeply moved by the recent premiere of "The Normal Heart" film on HBO. In releasing these never-before-seen video clips of Larry Kramer at one of our very first Forums in 1993, we hope to show to the world his incredible passion, fire, anger, grief and commitment to creating awareness and action on the AIDS crisis.
Outspoken activist Larry Kramer (writer of "The Normal Heart" and founder of ACT UP) took on the National Institute of Health and challenged the audience sitting in front of him to "Do something!" about the AIDS crisis when he spoke about the disease at The CT Forum's "Straight Talk and Honest Answers about AIDS" in February of 1993.
On the same night that tennis great Arthur Ashe was supposed to join him on stage - Arthur passed away earlier that day - Kramer brought his fiery brand of truth telling and provocation to the panel discussion, displaying an intense urgency to the crisis and pleading for more action.
Adding immediacy and poignancy to Kramer's comments was the news of Arthur Ashe's death, announced to the audience after intermission and following the presentation of his final public message. See that message here: • Arthur Ashe's final me...

Larry died today. Among the reasons I weep is that I never got to meet him and HUG HIM for being the human being that tried harder than anyone alive (other than me, I suppose) to save the life of my husband Dennis, who was lost to AIDS in 1988. Thank you, Larry. I love you, Larry. Shake things up in heaven as you did on earth.
