Tough to watch this video. Can’t imagine actually being the ones losing this equipment. Glad everyone is ok and crop loss appears to be minimal. My heart goes out to you all.

My mom saw the smoke from this on her way home that night. My dad heard about it and went to go look at it. My dad found this video last night and showed it to me. Im so sorry this happened. I cant imagine my dad losing his combine. Prayers to you all. Edit was spelling.

Good ol john deere ! Bought 4 new 5500 vineyard tractors when they first came out 3 of them burned to the ground within the first year !

We had that happen several years ago. It’s tragic but so thankful my dad who was running it got out. Good luck!

That's a horrible feeling but it can be replaced. As long as no one got hurt or killed.

Simple maintenance like greasing all bearings is very important.

There's 10 sealed bearings for every bearing with a grease fitting...sealed ones can go quick. A 500gal fire fighting tank on the grain cart wouldn't stop anything once the oils start to go...if you can afford a thermal camera, you might spot a hot bearing. But if the combine eats something metal and sparks fly...all the greasing and maintenance in the world are for not.

Such a normal sight to see with combines ! Gotta keep them clean!!!! The make extinguisher systems for these !! But most are to cheap to buy !!

Just seen this. Purely frickeng sucks 😕 man!! Thankfull that everyone is safe, as that is really all that matters. But.....crops still need to get in and field work finished. Farmers are programmed to not fail. On that note, we send our prayers and look forward to seeing your new machine!😊

We blow our combines off with a powerful gas blower every day even if it doesn't look that dusty. Clean air filter and ck all bearings and hoses for leaks.

try equiping with a few Elide fire balls. They are a very good early warning and are brilliant.

We lost a head on a combine last year and nearly another this year. I got them both up on my channel somewhere. Sucks though to lose a whole machine. We lost a motor that put one of our machines down for good. 180k replacement motor. Times are strange. Stay safe!

as a farmer i am so sorry to see this happen to you. we have the 2 belts that get hot when unloading, every time i unload i watch them, this harvest they were smoking, and i had to get out and use the fire extinguisher just to cool it down... it wasnt a question if i should. it was. I WILL. try getting in contact with the association that helps farmers in need. dont remember the name but its not hard to find them online.

Our local salvage yard thinks the Deere combines are programmed to burn, because they all seem to go around the same hours

Deere guys know how to use a camera. The red ones burn too. My neighbor's case went up last year. It's sad, it sure ain't funny.

Very fine grain dust from harvesting is quite flammable.

That's awful. I had new Holland burn up once know the feeling

Same thing happened to a JD combine in the area I live in in upstate NY. last summer. The rusted hulk is still sitting there. WTF is up with those JD combines anyway???

No one hurt at least . Must be gutting to see . Hope you can work around the problem . 🤞

Oh Deere.

Apparently didn't have a water truck standing by. Also, it might be that they don't dust their combine at the end of each shift or regularly check their belts. Who knows. Sad to see. Helpless feeling.

Why are your machine catching fire

Instead of filming,why didn't you tried and stop fire with the extinguisher when it started?

VERY sad to see but a complete loss might be easier to receive insurance compensation for than arguing over a partial loss.
