So a tip I recently learned is that CK3 has uncapped frame rate and it’s one of the reasons why it runs so hot. Turning down the graphics can really help.

I set the frame rate to 30 fps. You don’t really need a high frame rate for CK3, it’s a rather slow paced map game; not the type of video game where you need any possible frame because each and every second counts.

Yeah also learned that they messed up the net code in the DLC that they didn’t fix until 1.10

You really should do more ck3. Its fun watching you play. Maybe try some mods as well.

What we did in ck2 for faster save loading was to fileshare the save file so everyone had the same savefile in the save folder so it loaded instantly

As someone who has played Imperator, CK3, Vicky3, and hoi4. Vicky 3 and CK3 are the worst. After learning about MP for Imperator it's easy(i.e. align all mods up in the EXACT order and validate game files. afterward, if it doesn't work delete game files validate, and restart.) You see Imperator's MP at least WORKS, unlike Vick3 and CK3. EU4 and Hoi4 are ok MP experiences

Having just played a 4 hour, 30 player lobby of Imperator with only a single rehost needed, I can confidently call ignorance on anyone calling Imperator the worst MP experience.

Did you play with the latest beta patch? Because Swimmy tried it and streamed it and it was impossible for them to play. They tried for 3-4 hours. After watching that I can confidently call that the worst pdx mp experience. I’ll however say that was a month ago, so I don’t know if they updated the beta patch again. If it’s fixed I’ll let CK3 have the title lmao

@@Bokoen1 Yeah we played on 2.0.4 beta. Hot joins are shit but they are possible, you just gotta make sure that no one clicks anything and the game is paused while the hot joiner joins... entirely based on trust though and I really wish they'd used the EU4 or HOI4 hotjoin system instead. But yeah, Ive played 3 sessions of Imperator now in the past 3 weeks and it's been smooth and stable, and so much better than CK3 has ever treated us. Definitely that or Vic3 (not played MP since 1.0) has been my worst MP exp

Alright I guess they fixed the joining lobby issue in imperator, now it just has the same problem with the lack of a lobby system so people can straight up ruin games when loading in. Vic3 is very stable unless someone hotjoins. Rehosting a lobby is also fast. Ck3 takes 20 min to load a save file if you need to rehost pepehands. Hoping eu5 will have an actual lobby system. It’s like since they added the system in imperator and brought it into all new titles, their MP system has just gone down hill.

@@Bokoen1 I guess the CK3 MP that my mods want me to run can get delayed again, or just indefinitely, until they fix it. CBA with the trouble of setting it up just for it to fail. I'm gonna poke Johan and remind him how good the hotjoin/lobby system of EU4 was, and how awful everything since Stellaris has been, just in case :P

Most of the events are inconsequential unless if they’re dealing with your heir, it’s not even necessarily bad to take stress. And there aren’t stack wipes unless if you are outnumbered 10 to 1 so lost battles aren’t such a big deal either.
