I remember at some of the specialized stores that would sell electronics of the day ... like selling a car the salesman would sit you on a couch and demonstrate all the features and power then play them loud enough to have a block party ...

For "Doo-Wop" 78's, you should have a 1950's Magnavox mono system- a "Magnasonic" with a tube push pull amp and a tone arm with higher tracking. This system is really best for Lp stereo records..

@@1953childstar I'm sure even if it's a mid 1960's console, you can still play your 78 rpm records and get a nice sound.. Not as good as a mid 1950's mono tube system..

I have an RCA just like that, Same model number with a total of 10 speakers, but on the back it shows to be 300 watts. It looks great and sounds great. The original owner said he bought it in 1968. No kind of repair ever done. My computer is connected so it serves as everything audio. Music from you tube and sometimes as speakers for movies. The turn table and radio work, but I almost never use them. I wonder how long it will continue to work.

Seems kind of rare to have an S curved tonearm from 1967.

There is an antique shop near me that has one but he doesn't want to sell it and he said it was put out of action by a power surge or lightning strike. I wonder if it's repairable?
