That "tang tang tang" at idle is music to my ears. My dad had a 72 (and later on a 71) DT250. Funny how that simple sound of a motorcycle (an inanimate object) at idle can be emotionally tied to the memory of a person. One day I hope to find one of these complete, at the same time as having some money (I'll probably stumble across one when I'm flat broke, and there'll be someone else with money at the time...... The story of life). Thanks for posting this video.
These dude's got there shit together.
Oriental wizardry!! Ring a ding ding!!
Nice video I love old 2 stroke bikes
ohhhh yes thats a thing of beauty i had a brand new ty 125 when i turned 16 when all my friends were riding the new liquid cooled models mine was a trials bike so a slow bike but looked just like that !!! great
Love the white paint. Mine had a brace on the front fork which I don't think I've seen on another. Mine was the orange metal flake.
Awesome bike and video! Thanks
I've got an old 1972 ds7, was my 1rst bike from 19 years ago. Thing is fun to put around on
It must have been something back when a pack of 2 stroke bikes would be running down the street.

Parked my construction equipment 30' from the back door, of Don and Gary Jones motorcycle shop, in La Puente, California. Watch them turn this bike into the MX bike for Yamaha. Gary was 3 or 4 times ? USA motorcross champion.
Pablo Escobar loved this bike !
Gotta love the old clappers
Wow, that's a good looking little bike. 6v or 12v electrical system?
Wish they would manufacture seats like this again
Hey, is there anyway you can let me low where your mechanic sources his parts? I’m looking at doing a restoration on 1 of these 12,000 and have hard time finding things like lights or that exhaust insert. Thanks so much! Don’t know who else would know
Good for JR.to understand inflation of the money supply and assets...

68 Yamaha Dt1 is the best bike ever made. No insult but fix that muffler guard and add gaskets to the speedo and tach. Sqaure swingarm ran 1968-70. Those badges are not $30 anymore for others watching. They are almost impossible to find if they are they are 300+ per side for NOS. We always wanted aluminum but never could get it. A guy from Uk Yellow Mellow Supply made some for 60cc-125cc but he quit the business after I found him (sad face) but no 250cc+
The funny thing about these awesome bikes is that when you see one for sale and the price is say 5000$ you think that is to much , then you realize a new bike costs 10.000. They are a bargain 😎
