I feel like 2 things should be mentioned for insurgency sandstorm: 1) the original creator and devs for insurgency sandstorm have left the company shortly after the game released 2) there has been a huge restructuring within NWI ans although they said they will continue the development of the game and unannounced projects, there were still some devs that were laid off. So as much as I am excited for new content, I feel like a lot of the spirit and ideas might be gone soon.

2 is completely wrong, NWI doesn't exist anymore. the entire dev team and studio got fired months ago and Embracer group is more or less parading it's corpse around via outsourced help (and Saber interactive). NWI hasn't touched Sandstorm since the survival update. (quoted by a ex dev themself) also the newest game that WAS being made by NWI before the shut down was... well totally shut down. NWI is just a name. everything about it is outsourced, not a single in home dev.

I like how Insurgency Sandstorm is like Call of Duty, but it's permanent hardcore mode without the broken score streaks and perks that makes the player super human.

Sandstorm is one of those games that I look back on the time I played it very very fondly from 2019 to now, I just hope there's another game like it down the line but I'm kinda doubtful especially seeing what embracer group has done

Crossplay will definitely help with player counts on all platforms, it's also cool that they plan on having input based matchmaking as well.

I thought the green map was coming this update :( Really hope these aren't the last few updates. This is the best multiplayer fps next to Titanfall 2 (imo). To have such a steady player base along with a nice flow of updates keeps me coming back. I feel like if they're planning on adding cross play they aren't going to drop the game just yet.

Adding crossplay at this point in its life cycle, is not a sign of good health, and has zero impact on whether the game will continue getting updates. Quite the opposite, actually.

Unfortunately i think it'd have to be a new IP for them to make a NATO vs CSTO type game. It wouldn't fit the Insurgency title anymore to make it conventional forces vs conventional forces

Making an Ak74M, in an N, a 105, AKMN into AK103, AKSMN, M4’s into various kinds of M4 with different handguards, pistol grips and shit and so much more in the department of clothing, armour, helmets.

It would be cool if they did this but the conventional forces were all security force options and they only appeared on certain maps. ex:) Security Force = Colombian National Guard vs Insurgents = M-19 or FARC Security Force = Russian Spetsnaz vs Insurgents = Chechen militia, etc.

Did they change their stance? Because they literally just made a community post on Steam saying they were going to continue supporting and updating the game.

I think that a new insurgency would be hella cool if it would be in a eastern/central europe or balkan setting

Still have Insurgency 2 installed since Sandstorms Offline mode sucks, give us the ability to use the mods we installed offline, allow us to take control of the bot when we are down, and fill out the whole squad instead of just 3. This is just the bare minimum I want for a mode that feels like an afterthought to players like me with countries that have shitty internet.

No the Devs said this isn't it for the game but the map is fun/weapons so I will take what I can get at this point.

I still don't fully understand NWI's situation and it seems like the game's community still doesn't either. Like I know they got cut-off from Embracer Group and Saber, NWI's publisher did a restructuring but everyone makes it sound like NWI doesn't exist anymore? Something about contract workers?

To sum it up, most of the work on sandstorm is actually being done by another studio so yes contracted, and NWI had been mostly hands off and working on a new game. That is until Embracer group layed off most of them, so NWI still exists but it’s with a skeleton crew and pretty much only there to be a brand and their game in production canceled. Otherwise effectively NWI is dead.

Insurgency Source was an amazing game. It was cheap and had limitless gameplay. Mod support was awesome and the community was alive. They brought in the new Insurgency game, mods are limited and you can’t play in custom servers because the server browser is broken. Instead of new maps, factions and new gameplay mechanics, we have the same stuff from Insurgency Source.

Need to fix small calibers going through objects that they never would(steel industrial air conditioning unit),new maps,new gun per class, reticle customization atleast color change,more vest amd backpack options,a mode that actually prioritizes vehicles like a bigger frontlone mode....maybe beable to control the minigun in the chopper

Cross play is already a thing ? I play on Xbox and have seen people do the non aim lean. Which is exclusive to PC.

I played 900 hours of this game on my original ps5 account, I just downloaded it again for shits and giggles.

Seeing how easily my brother controls the recoil on K&M while I play on my Xbox makes total sense to why you don't want PC players and the fact that they are going to ruin the game by cheating

The cosmetics caused a cosmetic bug (at least I think it's a bug and I hope it's not just me) that causes the PASGT helmet w/ Uniform Camo to revert to single, solid color without camo pattern.

Same thought man. They bring the crossplay for the player count goes up. Cuz i think its hard to match up in consoles. Like in asia so hard to find pvp match in midnight in consoles. But when i log in using my pc steam, only chinese players at midnight😂 Or they bring the crossplay hoping the game wont die fast so they can still profit from it.... I LIKE THE UPDATE THO.

For somebody who has played a lot more of insurgency OG standalone from 2014 it is crazy considering Insurgency sandstorm as 6 years old already and approaching a decade. I thought the graphics for the original insurgency was amazing, and this game graphics still feels futuristic. Most games don’t look like this. The future is awesome for 3d graphics. And remember, this game started as a mod for half-life in 2007.

There already is crossplay tho?

We need realistic scopes in a new Insurgency game

Just a little note this game definitely does have a meta there’s a reason why the FAL doesn’t have extended mags anymore and why we can’t use 2X scopes on snipers and the MDR and the SVD are both definitively the best guns in the game bar none. Besides that the game is kinda getting to that end point I know they say they are gonna support at least 3 more major updates but I wouldn’t buy into that just yet however I could see them doing another title sometime in the near future maybe end of 2025 early 2026 just a guess but wouldn’t be too suprised if we get something new

@@D3athmoomanthe reason you don’t see people playing them is because you probably see lower level players and not the higher level players. If you ever play or watch the community tournaments put on by the SGC you’ll realize the svd and the Mdr are the meta you’ll also realize that the galil is meta the game does have a very distinct meta in it even on release there was a FAL meta that lasted forever

I wish sony would revive the socom franchise, and bring the entire insurgency dev team over to basically just rebrand insurgency as socom, but with a ton more resources to allow for way more guns, game modes and maps. Give me day/night maps, urban maps, rural afghan mountains, middle eastern villages, etc.

Lol I always make many kills with sniper, new map is actually good for sniping and also close range fighting

I love insurgency sandstorm for what it is and its the only playable milsim on console. But I hate the controller settings, it feels bad and i don't know how to fix the sensetivity.

Stopped playing the game once they fired NWI (basically) and outsourced the support to another Studio due cost reduction . I don’t support this at all.

This game doesn't have enough content, i hope they add a lot more but with how little they add on each update, i don't have a lot of hope

After the last 2 updates the game doesnt support HDR for Series X/S.. Too bad for me..

Sandstorm was a good game at launch, after 2 years it became too much popular and some updates destroyed the optimization of the game, making it impossible to play in middle-end PCs and in the PS4 and Xbox one (literally, on Xbox One S you have 24 FPS with frame dropping to 10-15 fps after someone shoots in something)

Maybe I need to get this. It looks more “serious” than Call of Duty, but isn’t as hardcore (AKA a thousand different buttons to use) as Squad.

I just want a more fleshed out and complete bot mode, every map should have a TDM variant. More flushed out custom matches would make the game on par with Call of Duty

i got this game when it was only 10 bucks

With nwi being part of saber interactive and being free of the embrace, I'm cautiously optimistic. My one true wish before the game goes eol is that they make modding more robust and intuitive. Like God damn I don't want to put console commands and all that shit. I just want to click subscribe to a mod, load up the game and then customize my offline playlist. But I think that's a strong ask at this point.

I know the game has had its problems and people have their problems with it, but overall it’s been one of my all time favourite games. I played the earlier title years ago and really enjoyed it and have played sandstorm for most of its lifespan so far. For me it’s the perfect mix of realistic shooter with overall good mechanics but without the massive time commitment of some other realism based games, lets me jump in for an hour at the end of the day and get some good satisfying gameplay in

We need a new Insurgency game. But it needs to be much bigger and have more content. It needs bigger maps with vehicles. Also I'd love to have different setting.

I know a new insurgency game would be cool, but why. They are on the Unreal Engine and can port everything over to the newest version. Then they can update visuals and keep making new updates. Just because it's 6 years old doesn't mean that it needs to be fixed.

I hope eventually they let us console players use the mods pc players have that will add quite a bit for us. Really hoping we see another insurgency game
