Wow, was not aware of Napoleon basically freeing the jews of Italy. He wasn't thst bad of a guy now was he.

I’m a Spanish Jew. My ancestors fled Spain during this inquisition and landed in Nuevo León Mexico. My ancestor who fled was the captain of a ship. When the viceroy of Spain realized these Jews were still practicing in Mexico they offered them land to become Catholic and many did including my ancestors. We still have the recipe of the Jewish holy bread in our family. I am the only one in my family who left the Catholic Church at 13. I’ve been Buddhist for the past 30 years and would never turn back.

@@louisangel50 Louis, I can't explain why you think different, unless maybe you never heard of atheists such as Joseph Stalin, the communist dictator of the Soviet Union who by himself was responsible for killing more people than all the religious wars and crusades in history? Also, in case you didn't know, the nuclear bomb and other weapons of mass destruction which threaten the lives of everyone on our planet were created by scientists who are atheists. And more generally, respect for human life is diminished in societies who's schools teach the atheistic theory that life has no higher purpose than our own convenience.

My father in the 1960's was forced to take responsibility over a child from the catholic church, because he was in a relationship with the boys mother, but she was sleeping with a priest as well. My dad was 21 years old and was a driver for the church. Back then their was no DNA test. So he was paid to sign the birth certificate and was given money to be quite. I stoped being catholic in the 2000's when people were accusing the church for sexual abuse and thier stories were not recognized , and the church swept it under the rug. Just awful

As reported, it didn't. There was indeed a very sad and traumatic case, much like the popular presentation .. but also rather different. I doubt anyone today is interested in the facts of the matter, only in the cruelty of a judicial process - when the state takes a child away from its parents; it does still happen.

'Facts' are the sense we try to make out of the 'data' (given evidence) we come across .. so it should not surprise us when we find out that very little of what we (claim to) know actually turns out to be right. A bit more of the properly-directed inquisitorial spirit wouldn't go amiss .. especially in dealing with institutionalised crime being committed today. ;o)

Heartbreaking, as any father who has lost their son, and there are so many, will know.

They sure gave Pope Pius XI a dramatic voice. I kept expecting him to say, “Edgardo, you are the Dovahkiin”.

"The hand that rocks the cradle." A lot of good parents out there are hated by their children because a partner uses the fact to their advantage.

The Montara case makes me wonder if everything I've been taught about human rights is a lie. The boy was kidnapped & brainwashed by the Catholics to the point he prefers to live the life of his abductors than to be with his family again. I'm not talking about converting back, but to just abandon his family just to live & die somewhere else with the very people who abducted you & turn you against your family? Now I'm depressed...

I was aware of this case of the kidnapped boy, but did not know its importance in the establishment of a secular world.

Pope Pius IX (a.k.a. Pio Nonno-because he always said, “No, no!” to any reform).

That “church” was, and shall ever remain a loathsome institution.

The inquisition still exists just under another name. 1908 The Inquisition is renamed Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office by Pope Pius X. 1965 The Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office is renamed Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (SCDF). It shows the mentality of even the current Catholic Church.

I enjoy these documentaries very much.

The inquisition still exists today, it’s in the same building, in the same room and is called the Congregation for Doctrine and Faith. Pope Benedict was head of it before coming Pope.

Skeptic Psychologist : The problem is that the RCC controls it’s own narrative. I don’t trust it as far as I could throw it. The leopard cannot change it’s spots. Though the name has been change to a degree it still serves the same purpose as the internal gate keeper, though less violently. Though I do believe if given the chance it would gladly revert back to it, it’s a control thing for them.

@@kensmith8152 There are seven protestant Catholic churches that if you study about them and their founders you will discover they sill continue with some of the false Catholic church beliefs and that they never truly broke away. The pope could have easily succeeded in having Martin Luther killed yet he did not because he knew this. There are also many cults that were formed off of the Catholic church. In more recent years the higher administration of the Methodist and Lutheran churches signed certain agreements with the Vatican. All of these factors describe the Mystery Babylon mentioned in the Bible in the book of Revelations.

Incidentally, I have climbed the Jacob Ladder steps on St. Helena and was in the room where Napoleon died; I was surprised at the size of his face, according to his death mask beside the bed; it was VERY large, so, I guess his head was huge also. Now to Waterloo, it was the men of the Land of my birth that gave the beginning of Napoleon's end... I agree totally. I'm also ex-catholic. They committed atrocities all over the planet and continue to do so. I hope I get to see the fall of thr catholic church in my lifetime

Not quite accurate. Started in the 12th century and the last recorded execution was in 1826.

Not being critical, just a little correction. The "Holy" Spanish Inquisition began in 1478 with the blessing of Pope Sixtus IV and ended with Pope Leo XII in 1826. Not all of those thousands convicted of being heretics were burned to death at the stake, many were boiled to death in oil; much, much more humane, right?

This is why the separation of Church and State is crucial. The religion or sect is irrelevant. The government is a creation of the people who come together to regulate behavior to achieve harmony and justice between its members. Religion is to give comfort to individuals through their beliefs. These beliefs should never be inflicted upon others thus impinging their freedom or lives. These abuses by medieval thinking Catholics were echoed by Puritans, Moslems, Hindus and others. The only solution is separation of Church and State.

I dont think it is as simple as that because what if both the state and religion is in the same hands of the dragon ?

How can we be sure that the statements in this documentary are true and verifiable? Where can the sources be found for those interested in further investigation?

The inquisition records were reburied into the Vatican after being reclaimed by the church, following Napoleon's exploits. Good luck trying to gain access thru the Vatican. Pure evil perpetrators. But, all faithful church men.

Santa was invented by the Catholics too. The true story of Santa is the original Santa that was Christopher Kringle who gave gifts to poor children at Christmas. The Catholics changed the name to Santa Claus and decided to commercialize the concept for the purpose of making money.

Leaving out the real truth is intolerable

It sucks that you had 7 ad breaks in the first 15 minutes. It looks like a good documentary but I'm not watching more ads than history🤷🏻‍♀️

Also the pope fits the description of the antichrist as someone who sits upon a throne as though he is God and someone who kings bow down to. When each pope is elected in the Catholics do not believe that he sins and neither does he. It is just a matter of time as to what pope will be enforcing the mark of the beast.

A line of NonCatholic AntiPopes have overtook the city of Rome & the Vatican. The AntiChrist PRETENDS TO BE Pope, but he is ACTUALLY an AntiPope. Please look up Most Holy Family Monastery, they explain well.

The U.S. is still a very young country and the U.S. is trillions of dollars in debt so therefore the U.S. is NOT the wealthiest country in the world. Napoleon did the Will of God (unknowingly), he was the force that ended the power of the Pope. He succeeded in war against Catholic countries until he went into Egypt & Russia, they were not on the Agenda.

Ppl got power in hands so this is how it shapes their actions

Most definitely the RCC is a main player in the prophecies of Daniel 2 & 7 and Revelation 13; 14; 17. There is no other political-religious system that meet the characteristics of them.

Ratzinger was in charge of the Inquisition & there's no reason to think it doesn't still exist. The papal ghetto was a nightmare of inhumanity. These were the first ghettos called that.

IRONIC.... That in choosing THE CHURCH.... The boy transgressed one of the most important of the TEN COMMANDMENTS! "HONOR thy FATHER and thy MOTHER"

Cowardly that he did not at least meet with his father who had suffered soooo very much. What kind of religion is that which is not compassionate for the suffering of others. He hid in a monastery and arrogantly trying to convert rather than just loving them, no matter his personal faith. What an injustice to kidnap a child, The church has a long history of doing this, right into the 20th century.

This sort of cruelty happened to children of the First Americans in the United States. They were stripped of their culture and it is an atrocity not really discussed in American history. This was most disheartening to watch.
