so if someone told you 2 years ago that the final boss of Endwalker would be you fighting the physical manifestation of despair while your ride on the back of a giant dragon through outer space while planets are being hurled at you, what would you think?

that endwalker ultimate in 9.0 is going to go impossibly hard

I’m personally hoping they combine shadowbringers and endwalker events into one ultimate if they ever do an ascian ultimate, everything that happened since including the endsinger is extremely tied together and anything missing will feel very incomplete to me.

GOD it's such a good choice to have the final fantasy theme play triumphantly right at the end. I waited months for this orchestral arrangement of the final day to be released and it's so good. i also think it's funny that, in the acoustic arrangements version, Heroes gets just a little bit more time for its section, and I want to say it's the same for this one. haven't checked it though. anyways I'll see you all in like 5-7 years when we get The Tale of the Star (Ultimate)

its amazing how much the Ascians touch the plot, all of the major bad guys are influenced by them, use their tech, or just straight up are them, its impressive how they kept a central force interesting for so long.

I'll admit, there was a point in HW where I was left going "UGH CAN WE STOP WITH THE ALLAGANS/ASCIANS MEME NOW" but that was when they started switching the main scenario writing team as the previous team was being pulled to work on FFXVI. It's honestly more impressive that they pulled getting us longer playing time players interested again. 😅

Feel beyond blessed to have witnessed this live at the eorzean symphony. Brings me to tears everytime

Only now do I understand the full depth of this song and its meaning. It is our entire journey, from facing the Ultima Weapon, to the most powerful of Ascians, all culminating in the final fight against this dark fantasy. Hope against despair, the catalyst that set everything in motion. And it is a song of *triumph* We aren't fighting the Endsinger. The Endsinger is fighting *US.*

to be precise, Elidibus is stronger than Emet-Selch, and is one of the reasons he was chosen as the heart of Zodiark, Emet is absolutely no slouch though.

That's why phase two of this fight plays Maker's Ruin - the theme of the Warrior of Light. It's not the Endsinger's boss music anymore. It's OURS.

@@et3inuyasha Even more satisfying when you realize that in the Ultima boss fight, "Makers Ruin" plays first before Ultima's theme plays in the 2nd phase... that's mostly signifying that we as the wol are not powerful enough... now fast forward to the endsinger boss, "The Final Day" plays in phase 1 and then phase 2, we get to hear the Maker's ruin once more with "With Hearts Aligned"... I mean granite we got help from the scions but I think that was more than enough... enough for the final fight against Zenos afterwards.

calling it now for the ultimate endsinger wont be the final phase. it'll be Zeno absorbing the endsingers aether.

OMG It's just what I've been waiting for so long!!

This video is so well made, my goodness

props to you for making the background video, its really good!

I know it was too much to ask but I was really hoping during the Symphony they would have cut to black at the end, turned off all the lights and " When hearts aligned" started to play to really close it off, just like the game did. I can imagine the cheers and tears in the audience.

My favourite part of this version is how all the new lyrics aren't from the respective bosses point of view any more. They're from ours (and maybe a little Zenos at the begining). We've co-opted the themes of our antagonists and used the strength we gained from our experiences to overcome the final challenge. Which leads so perfectly into the song that follows this one.

Your video is head and shoulders above the ones they used for the orchestra concert in Vegas, excellent choices for the footage!

"Yet ever we still stand tall Never we fall Invincible" I can NOT get over how amazing this section of lyrics is. I don't know why it's so great, though- is it the structure?

I think it's great because it perfectly sums up our WoL. No matter the battle field, no matter the cause, we will always stand tall and fight to the bitter end, and then some.

All the lyrics to Invincible go incredibly hard - but I think this passage really delivers by aligning the title drop with the final line. It gets shorter and shorter until only the title finishes the song, which is extremely effective.

I have a lot of wants for endsinger ultimate, and while I have a feeling that since there's no "With hearts aligned" orchestral version that it's not going to cover that part... but dammit if it wouldn't be satisfying to pull a page out of elidibus' book and do LB4 to finish off the boss right at the ending of the music here.

I feel like With Hearts Aligned could still be in Endsinger Ultimate. Got at least two expansions (including Dawntrail in that) before they would get to Endsinger based on the current Ultimate trend, so thats plenty of time for either a Eorzea Sym/Primal cover of WHA. Honestly Im more curious about Eden Ultimate since Promises to Keep still doesn't have a cover.

God I cant wait to see how they use this in an Ultimate one day. They've gotta have the enrage line up with the music at the end too I swear it'd be the coolest thing ever

Well, yeah, that's The Worm's Tail, Zenos-Shinryu's battle theme. It's using the lyrics for the old orchestral version of his theme, even the start of The Final Day is his theme.

You mean at 2:41? It's a french horn, for whatever reason the mixing goes from the trumpets being the louder instrument to the French horn so you get a brief moment of dissonance. I like it.

This should have been Zodiark's theme, and Endcaller Endinsger phase 1. I mean, Zodiark (The ascians), had direct involvement with Ultima (Lahabrea), Thordan (Elidibus and Lahabrea), Shinryu and Zenos (Elidibus) and the First (Emet and Elidibus). Meteion had no involvement at all on the game until the last bit, and even we get to Elpis through Elidibus. Endcaller is a rearrange of Endwalker main theme, and since Meteion is Endwalker's Final Boss it would fit her way better.

"Meteion had no involvement at all on the game until the last bit" my brother in Hydaelyn, Meteion IS the reason why all of this happened to begin with. No final days = no sundering = none of this come to pass.
