The Final 10: All Blacks v South Africa (2010)

Even Houdini would have been proud of the escape act the All Blacks pulled off against South Africa in 2010.
The Final 10 is brought to you by adidas.

I believe this game was a huge psychological boost for the ABs who had lost three tests against South Africa in 2009. The magnitude of this win pushed them forward as they eventually also won the Grand Slam and within a year had also won the World Cup. Looking back now, this win was more important than we ABs fans think....

I stopped breathing when McCaw went over in the corner and like a drowning man. I can still feel it. TRY! Carter with the knock forward and two of the tee misses...inexplicable. Smit on his 100 Test could only take Nonu's boot,..I felt for him big time. However, Nonu still has to find his support and ranging up outside was Dagg. A pass just out in front at chest level. Perfect. Then Dagg went and went and went. PUT IT DOWN!!! He put it down...

No one is whining though 😂 We respect New Zealand more than any other rugby playing nation, as do the rest of the world.

AB rugby, cleanout from the side by no4, forward passes. Boks played crap though but I believe that 2011 was our wc if it wasnt for the Aussie/NZ pact of Mr Lawrence.

Amazing how many mistakes are made in rugby by refs leading to a team winning a game...Richie was the king of hypnosis with refs.... Anyway what was was....lol 2011 world cup lost a lot of rugby support due to the game loosing it's legit reffing....I will give 2015 world cup to NZ ....no questions. ..

This game shows how rugby has evolved and I know that this is a very unpopular opinion, But I just think Dan Carter was extremely overrated as a player. He was a great game manager and kicker (even though he missed a sitter here) but he was far from complete. His handling skills were sub-parr as you can see his passes lack zip in all of his games (unheard of from a professional 10 today). The way he attacked the line with the passive defences back then, he would be completely shut down today. He was a good player and achieved almost everything you can but he was made to look better with quality around him and the less impressive opposition compared to todays game.He wouldn't even start for super rugby team and believe the sport has evolved too much to put people in the GOAT conversation that played then.
