Zodiark at level 83 is the biggest subversion of expectations ever. Every boss this expac felt like the final boss.

I had the opposite reaction. Once I saw what the first trial was I immediately guessed the second and also predicted that the third would be something we couldn't have met before this MSQ once those two were done with.

That was my reaction as well. I now know what comes after and I am not dissapointed in the least.

I always knew that Zenos wanted to be inside of us, but I never expected him to actually _succeed,_ or that he would do his dad dirty TWICE.

I felt so violated, I were creeped out for minutes after it was done, just breathing before I could continue. I really wish I was joking but I kept trying to scrape the feeling off my body with my hands and the feeling didn't leave until I enter the dungeon and had full use of my own skills again.

That garlean solo-instance was stressful. I was crawling at 10 minutes left and had it in my mind I had to crawl all the way over and I was so close to restarting it.

I failed the first time. logged off in annoyance because I had to go grocery shopping, queues be darned. When I got back in and approached it with a clearer mind, I paid more attention to "stick to the shadows" and realized you can easily climb through the buildings and avoid almost all the mobs. Second time I got through it with plenty of time to spare.

Love how the Garlemald arc and the beginning of the Moon arc could easily be an entire expansion's story in itself

during that bodyswap moment and us just crawiling and thinking we're not gonna make it was really REALLY bad for my heart. just because of the anxiety that scene was giving lmao

WoL has become so strong that this expansion has a Primal among primals as a DUNGEON boss. It didn't hold your hand too much during the normal duties! It's insanely well done and I love this expansion.

Yeah, the sense of emmergency in this quest is really here because, well if you're too slow he will kill everybody but you are so weak at the same moment you can't take on 2 soldiers, when you're used to be against 5 I also loved Thancred Reaction to this, in French (because I am so I play in) he say he can't say you're guilty because he knew how hard it is to have his body taken by the enemy

A happy expansion? Everything was hard and sad... Just the same as my life in college. So larryzaur wasn't wrong when he said that we were going to college.

this was cut sooooo welll!!! i totally forgot alot of moments but its so entertaining to see you guys react the same way as me lmao

I love how much "In from the cold" shows how weak normal people are to us. We're just full of hacks, we can see where stuff is, we can regen outside battle, and we're so freaking strong. This duty really hammers that into place.

Second of all you channel aether as an eorzean, garleans don't do that without the help of the resonant modification which made zenos stand heads and shoulders above his peers. Most garleans are not pureblood and those who are rely on their superior constitution and build plus the occasional magitek armaments. Lucia didn't participate in head to head combat against a dragon the size of pyro/cryo dragon but commanded the temple knights during steps of faith. Even Aymeric struggled against Vidolfnir which isn't close to one eyed hraesvalgr when you fought him during sohr khai.

@@zeehero7280 Gaius also has a ton of Magitek, whether in his Legatus Armor Iron Man suit, or just the gunblade he carries which lets him do Terminus Est or other boss attacks. He does train a ton, of course, but he's even more reliant on his gear. On that note, remember that Thancred also cannot channel aether since end of ARR and still manages to be a badass.

The slow build-up of Penn Station jokes into finally getting into the base in Garlemald fucking killed me

One of the big reasons I listen to the game in English is so I can easily tell the difference between one voice actor/actress and another since it’s my native language. It just leads to less misunderstandings, especially when the stakes are quite high and they got some PRIMO voice talent for the new characters in this expansion.

I always played with Japanese voices (you can thank ARR Papalymo and Alphinaud for that) but I've watched so many people play Endwalker with the English dub that I'll probably go with that next expansion.

Oh boy you're in for a treat when you go through the rest. I also love how when Zenos stole the Wol's body they made it Alisaie and G'raha that were going to get attacked first. They were really trying to make people tense there.

ah yes, the true zodiark experience, everyone but like two people go onto the wrong spot and then realize that they’re wrong as the floor turns and also always being wrong on the damn snakes

I think most people's reaction to the first trial was "what!?! shouldn't he be the last boss???" XP

I was saying for 4 days straight, “holy shit we killed Zodiark”. Random parts throughout the day I would just suddenly remember that and be in shock all over again till I reached the end and had new things to continuously shock me

EW loves to sneak in those Haurchefant call backs. The one that got me was when WoL was asked why they would held the Garleans when they were down and it flash back to Haurchefant offering the WoL hot chocolate at the end of ARR.

I lost count of how many times this expansion had me literally sobbing into my hands. It fucking ended me, man. Which, I suppose, was the point. But man, yeah, my jaw dropped when I realised that the actual first trial was the main enemy. Like, wtf? We're killing Zodiark at lvl83? *what's the rest of the story about then??* Little did I know. Little did I know..

It was, though? Vrtra was the biggest troll, all "oh keep your friends close or they might get killed by what you get swapped in" fake foreshadowing, lol. Despite the LITERAL end of the world, it's the expansion with the lowest body count of all somehow 🤷‍♀️

I remember getting my butt kicked from the first trial. That boss took my raiding experience and threw it out the window

On hindsight I wonder if he had trouble with his coordination for a bit in my case, considering he now had an extra tail for balancing, and cat ears. Maybe that's why it took him so long to get to the camp. And imagine the headache from suddenly hearing way too good with Viera ears or so. :D

I was so waiting for the Endwalker series of videos to begin. It's time!

The Zenos reaper part at 11:50 legit made my skin crawl when i first saw it

During the body swap, and seeing G'raha approach Zenos as me, I was flat out yelling at the screen... "Noooo! Nooo! It's not me, get away!" This game got me so animated!

getting to Zodiark at level 83 and hearing that music blast I thought I fucked up and sequence broke the game somehow

I was hoping that Anima was gonna be a trial, but I'm so happy with the trials we got!

I was subbed to FF14 creator MoonShadow Fantasy who spoiled the 2nd trial which for some reason decided to include the name for his guide and from the name of the trial alone ruins plot twists and any speculation of this character being a fight. literally ruined the expansion for me. Why cant people be more respectable like you, happy and the rest that actually care about spoilers.

I'm so used to the English VA. Who would have thought Fandaniel's Japanese VA in this expansion is Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (ex: Kirito, Bell Cranel).

Yep... I had the exact same reactions to finding out who the 83 dungeon and 83 trial bosses were.

You can turn off battle effects in the gpose options at the top. This has been very handy for me when trying to find cool poses in the middle of actions and stuff, and just lets me admire the animations.

my experience with the first trial was my favorite moment by far in this game. i went in with a completely blind party and all of us were freaking out. endwalker is the first expansion i got to play on launch so being able to experience everyone's first reactions in real time was amazing. yeah, it took us many tries to finally beat it, but it was some of the most fun I've ever had in any game

That voice over the dark planet wasn't Hydalean. It's pretty distinct in the english (trailers and game), so I don't think it's a spoiler to say that.
