Detail. In addition to Ankalaev or Blachowicz being an option that doesn't have 5% of the value of moving up and trying to triple I'm not exaggerating. Winning against Ankalaev does not mean 5% of winning against Aspinall or Jon Jones Besides, it's not like Ankalaev deserves a title shot He has one victory in 2 years and 4 months until November and against WALKER an NPC Clearly the UFC has to put Poatan against Jones or Aspinall and do title eliminator at heavyweight BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE AT 93KG ON THE LAST TWO YEARS The best said has a victory in two years. In fact, Ulberg with 4 knockouts in two years is higher than Blachowicz and Ankalaev and Rountree with 4 wins also in the last two years ANKALAEV VS BLACHOWICZ RAKIC VS ULBERG JAMAHAL VS ROUNTREE It's the fights you have to do to generate new challengers

If it doesn’t end up that way and Alex jumps the line that’s almost more undeserved than Ankalaev getting the title shot himself. He’s the only one calling out Alex, and will be a challenge for him stylistically. Ankalaev didnt do shit to get a title shot, he’s a nobody. Hill is trying to get hype enough by hating on Poatan on social media to get a rematch. Since Jiri is out for god knows how long, make Ankalaev vs Hill around September for the title shot and Jan x Rakic. Meanwhile Alex waits and see his division and the HW unfold with Aspinall x Blaydes and Jones x Stipe, making his debut as a HW in early 2025. And ONLY AFTER that defenda his belt in LHW. Alex deserves this. Triple champ incoming.

@@annna6553 Yeah 2 fucking years ago, and since the draw he has only TWO fights (BOTH against JW). Fighting JW that was #7 in January (I think), doesnt get you the title shot. That was SIX months ago. Since then he spends his time tweeting about poatan and trying to speak his way to the title shot instead of fighting some real competition, maybe he is afraid he wont beat Jan in a rematch. IMO Ankalaev needs to fight against someone that is a top competitor in 2024 in order to fight Poatan , make it a rematch against Jan or fight Hill or Rakic idc. He does not deserve a TS right now and shouldnt get it by spending his time on Twitter instead of fighting.

@@mrmolloy That logic is dumb. This ain’t the WWE, the UFC is the most prestigious MMA promotion. Why have rankings? Why have belts? You would have some sense if that weren’t the case. There’s rankings for a reason. Look at the heavyweight division with Jon holding it up. Aspinall should be up next 100%. If champions constantly moved up after 1 title defense and or none. It would hold back divisions. It’s all reward not much risk. You get to not cut as much weight, create more buzz, make lots of money, and still be champion in your division. Along with the built in pity excuse “being like well he moved up and dared to be great.” Not saying they gotta have 12 title defenses. They should at least have 3 in my opinion or if excused any lower it’s cause the division is more or less cleared. Your right situation does matter. Though to say the fans need to agree for another man’s occupation and fight is crazy entitlement.

Pereira beats Ankeleav, Izzy beats DDP, Pereira beats Aspinall, Izzy beats Sean, Periera beats Jones, Izzy beats Jan, therefore avenging all of his losses. Then Alex and Izzy both weigh in at 185, fight for all three belts, and finally these two settle the MMA rubber match and becoming the greatest rilvary in UFC history. Pipe dream for sure. But could you imagine.

Dana already said publicly that he believes Pereira is too small to compete as a HW. Only reason he got fast-tracked at LHW was because he dethroned Izzy and severely cannibalized his body to do it. He isn't exactly struggling to make 205.

Chael you forgot an extremely important detail. Ankalaev WHO SAID he was in high demand to be next? He only has one win in two years. The idea of being the challenger is based on the assumption that YOU'RE RECENTLY ON THE RISE WINNING FIGHTS Not the case with Ankalaev. Until October when he said he wanted to fight, he would have 1 win in 2 years and 4 months, how could someone like that compete? We can contextualize it further. HE NEVER BEAT A TOP 5 IN THE CATEGORY. His only victory in 2 years is Walker, who is a fighter better known for delivering knockouts to his opponents that winning fights Clearly there is a need to do a title eliminator now. And in the meantime there is time for Poatan to move up to heavyweight Rountree and Ulberg have 4 wins in recent years, they are on the rise and in the top 10. Clearly they need to put them both against top 5 guys to generate new challengers This is what the UFC needs to do NOW 1) Blachowicz vs Ankalaev 2) Jamahal vs Rountree 3) Rakic vs Ulberg 4) Nikita vs Volkan Here is material to generate the next 2/3 challengers

The reason why its different now and why the past doesn't matter is simple. Alex just saved the UFC'S ass twice in a row and they owe him a big favor. Oh and then you also have Rogan and the masses demanding it and we all know what matters most in getting traction with a fight.

I think Alex Pereira is an amazing fighter. He just wants to fight whoever and doesn't care. You can tell it gives him so much purpose. He doesn't care who he fights next. He should fight whoever he wants. He will literally fight whoever the UFC puts infront of him and with pushes from Joe Rogan and also the giant payday that comes from the Jones fight win or lose it is something that would happen in the future if he can win his next 2 fights the third is Jones. He basically just says put whoever infront of me. The attitude is hoenstly the only genuine person I have believed this from with the way he says it and does it. He clears this division, fights once in heavyweight and then takes on Jones. That is what I see and all the while he keeps light heavyweight and defends it. I am a fan of him. I also love Izzy. I just like fighting to be real but in all honestly Pereira is one of the few guys who I see wants to fight again and again because he loves it. He wants to fight 305 for Pete's sake.
